I've just put together a paper test for a two-story paper model house with accessible interiors. I didn't even take it easy on myself. This model has not-quite-plumb angles and an overhanging upper story for that classic Tudor look. I need to make some tweaks and refinements, and to finish assembling the chimney pieces. It also needs a flight of stairs.

Here's my first paper test to make sure the connector pieces work. You can see that I'm just using "beams" affixed to the bottoms of the levels to keep them in place. It seems like the simplest solution, and it works.

I've added a set of stairs (with railings), fireplaces and chimneys. This model is ready for textures!

That's pretty sweet there.

Thanks! I think this has potential to be a hot one. I need to come up with a good name for it, since I've already used "Tudor House." I like the idea that a war widow lives here with her dutiful children, so I might call this the Widow's House.
So! Before anyone asks, I'm not going to include any interior furnishings for this model. There's a fireplace (3D piece), but that's all I plan to include. I can develop other furniture as a separate set, which seems like a good idea if I continue to design models with accessible interiors.
Right now I'm starting on the textures, just doing my basic setup stuff like putting wood-textures on the undersides of the roof.

Stone and brick textures are in place for the lower level and the stairway. Wood and plaster layers will go on the upper levels now.

I got a lot of work done on the textures tonight and I'm really happy with the way it's turning out. My remaining to-do list is short enough that I think I can finish it Monday, and do the final prep and publication on Tuesday.

How the heck can you work through this so quickly?!?
I'm sure that talent and practice have a lot to do with it

Almost done with the textures. I need to come up with some framed paintings, and then some final shading and highlighting.

The PDFs are done! This kit will come with a full set of multi-layered PDFs, plus one complete single-layered version that you can print out right away.
Now I just need to prepare the advert graphics and set up the instructions page. This model should be available in just a couple of hours!
