I've made some modifications to my Bastions so it will be slightly more towards looking like the GW version. My last one was too chunky on the bottom. The first two pictures are the first version and the last textured picture is version two skinned with textures from the video game Dawn of War II: Retribution. The new version will still follow the same modular template allowing for walls (which you can't do with the GW Bastion) and grand fortresses. The first three skins will be Imperial Guard, Space Wolves, and Chaos (Black Legion). Here is the white build from Version 1 so you can see that it is very sturdy. Next project is Bunkers, followed by Concrete trenches, Laser Fences, Pringles Industrial/Necromunda complex, and hopefully Capillary Towers. My Ultimate goal is to figure out how to put my paper models into UCM 2 or 5. Expect more pictures soon as I need to get these done for my summer campaign I'm running. I'm hoping to prove that a full paper terrain board can look just as amazing as traditional wargaming terrain.

Very nice. I like the idea of making it modular, also.
AND being able to have walls ... it just makes sense.
On the larger tower, how is the roof/floor on top supported? It seems to be four pieces in the second image.

On the larger tower, how is the roof/floor on top supported? It seems to be four pieces in the second image. Interior support structures are being made. Right now it is a static build, but I'm playing around with a way for it to be able to break down for easier storage. The changes I've made include having single and double height walls. The main section is a box design with the extras glued to the outside to give it strength. The walls have a different geometry to the base I need to come up with a gate idea for the walls.

here is version one of the landing pad. I'm not a big fan of how it looks.

Looks fine to me. You just need to remove the one blast shield blocking the ramp.

Do you have a site where we can see more of your older projects?

Thank you, Tirick

Unbelieveable stuff here. Endless modular fortress ... . The shapes are all great (and complex).

First Test Build! Epson Inkjet SX200 used on 250 gsm cardstock I normally use a box for internal support but I decided I would try this type of design. It works very well and is quicker than a box build. I have a few more modifications before it is finished.

It is a great looking model, for certain; a great addition to a battlefield or display layout. The modularity is like icing.
Thank you, Tirick

I'm just having way too much fun with this! I've made is so the Fortress is modular and can be easily combined with the Bastion. The Octagon end bunkers can be added or remain separate from the structure. New section include transition wall for 45 degree angles, wider walkways for the Fortress.

I love the tower.
'Somewhat Modular' is definitely the way to go here.
There are going to be a number of folks that want to get their mitts on this

Highlandpiper, just curious, are you Michael Haggard ? Sorry, that is not me. Nice design, I may have to get that for a Chaos design. Save me the trouble of doing it.

A friend of mine, knowing that i'm in the paper world, asked about "complex" (not just obstacles or little bunkers) for his WH40K games. Other than the Finger & Toe models, i did recall this one.... is it in any playable state?

Thanks to both. Problem is that my friend, being a WH40K, wants "beautiful" things. That Omega outpost is a bit "poor" on the texture side, while the Ebbles building are "just good enough" (my friends words). Given the actual quality of what exist now, i'd tend to agree, even if i like the Ebbles one.
The project of this thread was really promising....
... but for what should i googling for ? I keep finding walls, containers and dragon teeth, not "complex" structures.....

Warhammer 40k Bastions, Fortifications, Forts, Bunkers, Ruins, buildings, structures. When you do those, also do an image search because that is where I usually find my best stuff
