Here's a sketch of a townhouse I'm thinking about. I don't always make an illustration like this before starting a model, but for big models it helps. When/if I get serious about making this model, I'll start laying out the different parts in Photoshop.

Looks interesting. Is that a separate outbuilding in the 2nd view, or an extension of the main building?

It's an extension. I thought having a foyer jut out at a 45 degree angle would be interesting. I haven't tried something like that before.

It's an extension. I thought having a foyer jut out at a 45 degree angle would be interesting. I haven't tried something like that before. When I was visiting Rothenberg, Germany, it seemed that very few of the buildings or streets were actually rectilinear. Having a part of the building jut out at 45 degrees seems very authentic. Have fun! Steve

I'm liking the concept. That extension gives some visual interest.
It would give the table a more realistic, less symmetrical, organic cluttered look with more stuff like this.

About a third of the way through the cut-and-fold lines now. I've printed out what I've done so far and plan to start assembling it today. What I have created are the main walls, interior reinforcers, and the weird long dormer. Still needs a roof, the foyer, chimneys, roof dormers, stairs, and the balcony (might try a big 3" x 2" deck if the proportions look all right).

Cool, looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. The more unusual shapes definitely add to the table's appeal.

Created the chimney, foyer and roof dormer pieces. Still need a foyer chimney, main roof, stairs and balcony/deck. Looks like the overall page count and build time/complexity will be similar to the Inventor's House -- a weekend project.

I really like the direction you are going with these projects. Unusual buildings that bring character to the table.
In my old model railroading days, the buildings I added to the layout had character. I didn't have a huge set-up, but everyone who saw it loved it. As you look around there was so much to see.
These new buildings really do that. Not to say that your older stuff doesn't have character, but I can think of a few that are more like the canvas of a painting, whereas others are the subjects of the painting.
This is definitely one of those.

Thanks for that. Well I have a great group of dedicated volunteers, and they're helping out enormously. It makes the design of something like the Townhouse easier to think about.

My white paper test is starting to look more complete! I just need to add the small foyer chimney and stairs. If it looks like it needs it, I may add another wall dormer on the upper level somewhere.

Looks pretty weird without textures, but most of my models do at the paper-test stage. The pages are all set up and ready for texturing. But I think this could be a good time to take a little break from this model and work on some other projects.

I thought I was going to take a break from this model to work on other stuff, but I came right back to it. I've added three roof textures, and have begun adding the lower wall textures. There's a lot to do, but progress is being made.

Textures are finished and I'm sending this one out to my volunteers for final quality testing and assembled color models. I'll also try to convince NoRemorse to set up the GSDs.
While all that's going on, I can create the animated GIF showing the textures cycling through, and write up the product description. I can get that done in the next few hours, leaving me several days to work on other projects until the Townhouse photos and GSDs start coming back.
I'll probably work on the Archer bomber for Solid State War some more, and maybe get back to the 28mm-30mm Gallows set.

I was running a mental bet with myself and won.
You were quiet for a while, so I was trying to decide if you were busy trying to get this ready for an update or if you were taking a much needed and deserved break.
I ended up deciding you were working. I admire your work ethic as much as I admire your modeling skills.

I really like the aged red paint a lot. The slate roof looks very good too.

I like the shape, sometimes a buildings form is determined by the surrounding terrain. I also like the big upper deck - I see a medieval barbecue up there.

Honestly I don't know - could you look back on your couple of years and avg. the release prices then work off that?
Maybe a Paypal reoccurring event or the likes

The easiest way would be 10-15% on each release but have them sent directly, guaranteed sales, but no monthly sub. fee. 3 Month minimum sub, automatically deducted from Paypal/ Credit card. Renew every three months, with automatic renewal.
