Finger and Toe Models announces the release of the 28mm card stock FACTORY. Do you need a smoke-belching place to stash your loot? Have your snipers been driven from the warehouses? Do you just need a quiet place to build that steampunk submarine your mother wants? Then FACTORY is perfect for you! Modern cities are a wild mix of architectural styles and sprawling, gritty districts no one likes but everyone needs. Use FACTORY for everything from Nineteenth Century adventures to newly colonized worlds (bricks are cheap and low-tech, perfect for new world entrepreneurs). The main building is six inches by four, by four high. The tall chimney stands fourteen inches above your table. Combine with Finger and Toe’s small WAREHOUSE and loading dock, MULTI-STORY WAREHOUSE, SLUM CITY, and REFINERY for that sprawling urban blight that attracts the seedy and shifty-eyed . Remember, every Finger and Toe model comes with SMOOSH ASSURANCE: if ya’ll smoosh your FACTORY, a new set waits your summons from hard drive and printer. FACTORY is available from www.rpgnow.com or www.wargamevault.com for $5.00. Get it here: www.wargamevault.com/product_info.php?products_id=93388&filters=0_0_0&manufacturers_id=797

Thanks. I'm done with industrial slums for a while. Very depressing.

That is outstanding. Buying it right this second as soon as I'm done with my diorama submission. (Otherwise I'll never finish this crazy thing... )

Your modern series is outstanding. I am really digging each one. They fill a niche that doesn't exist either.
Great work man! You are on a roll! I hope you are selling alot of these!

I pur together a flash slideshow. It's at my website, just click on the "slideshow" link below the Factory thumbnail. www.fingerandtoe.comMy blog has a gallery of DAZ Studio 3D renders using a stage created from several model sets (slums, warehouses, a Bel's Kitty, and even an MI-124 Strekoza). fingerandtoe.com/wordpress/If you work in 3D models rather than 2D, I highly recommend DAZ Studio 3D. It's fairly easy to use once you've dinked around with it. Here's the best part: the sucker's free! This is an entirely unsolicited plug for a great product. Get it here: www.daz3d.com/i/software/daz_studio?

Hey cool renders, they give inspiration to more setups of your products. Thanks also for the tip on Daz3D, I've just finished the "purchase" (i.e. signing up on their digital store) and will try the program later.

Very nice slide shows and renders.
That last frame in the Factory slide show reminds of images of the Battersea Powerstation in England.

I'll take a look at that DAZ Studio Glenn. Does it have an unfolding tool or is it for post editing the finished model?

I'll take a look at that DAZ Studio Glenn. Does it have an unfolding tool or is it for post editing the finished model? No. It's not a design tool. Think of it as a virtual stage. The only use I can think of in design is to produce the kind of figures Arion Studios make: You buy a figure plus its associated weapons and armor, for example, then pose in DAZ Studio and do both a front and a back render. Then you crop and edit in a 2d app like Photoshop to produce the standees. You might try 3d Canvas' introductory program plus UV Unwrap. IIRC both are still free, but somewhat limited (because they're free). OTOH, Blender is a full featured 3d modeler and free. I just loaded it on my laptop and intend to try to learn it on vacation.

Oh I see. I'm thinking of Google Sketchup as I tried it one a while ago and it was easy to use and has an unwrap plug in for it, I think it's 3rd party.
Just played with DAZ for a while. It's a nice little program. Could get expensive with all the add on products. I can see the usefulness of it.

Got this along the multi-story warehouse for my WW2 Stalingrad skirmish games. Now, let me find yet another shelf to store my models on... ;D
