Avalon Games is happy to offer the first of our Figure Flat sets. Avalon Games have been planning a new product line for a while now and spent a lot of time working up the images for use with figure flat sets. Avalon has hired several great artists to generate the images we will use in these figures, so you will have a variety of styles and looks to choose from to match your tastes. In addition to the standard fantasy stuff we also have some great sci-fi, horror and Asian based sets coming out. What's even better for you is that we have a lot of it - four sets each month, as well as a free sampler and new figure that you can find only in Game Geek. For those of you who are playing Steel and Glory or Heroes Inc, we even have plans to work up figures for the characters found in those systems. Yep, it’s the Year of Figure Flats here at Avalon, so get ready. And as always, have a seat at the round table of fun with Avalon Games. Personally I don't like much "super heroes" theme. But they are good minis ( with front and rear. This is, imho, a must feature for "today" paper minis ) and good price.
Good job.
edit: of course, to be able comment, I've already downloaded them.

Avalon will be putting out a set each week for the next year, so there will be plenty of different types and styles of minis. We have several artists working on these sets so there will also be several different styles and looks to the figures.
This month we have the already released Heroes and Villains (Super Heroes)
Then coming this month we will have...
Sketetons Fantasy Adventurers and First Responders with modern figures.
You can also find free versions and alternate figiures in each issue of Game Geek, which is Avalon's monthly gaming e-zine, which is also free and can be found on all the sites we offer our products on.
In the coming months we have... Zombies Alins Bugs More Super Based figures Cosmic Horrors 1920's Heroes Dwarfs Security Droids Alien Warriors Gnomes Robots and a whole lot more

I'm bought, some time ago, the Battle Axe Deluxe and two war hosts because I thought there were paper miniatures ;D ). Why not all Game Geeks are free? It's just my curiosity. I've downloaded last number, 25, and now I have five new minis. Thanks.

Hey Rob,
I have one small piece of advice. Re-name your release of "Security *DROIDS*" to something more like "Security *DRONES*" or *Robots.*
The term *DROID* is licensed exclusively by George Lucas, and even in the Disney/Pixar movie "THE INCREDIBLES," they had to get permission to use the word "DROID."
Just a little advice that could prevent something bad from happening.

If ther is a change I suggest "security bots" ( bots from robot, from czech language ). It is more beautiful.

We plan to release a major new tabletop game using paper minis and paper models, terrain and objective markers. Nova Blast will be a Sci-Fi bases skirmish system using a lot of fluff from our Pathfinder based Sci-Fi system, Infinite Futures. The system is being design to allow you to move between Role Playing in the setting using IF to then playing out major battles using Nova Blast. All of it will be set in the same setting and be interchangeable. Some of the figures are being worked on right now by Adam Steel, who many of you know from this very site. You can check out some previews in three different issues of Game Geek, issues #19, 21, and 23. As for Game Geek's issues not all being free, we first put it out as a paid product, ($1.00 per issue) but found as it was meant to be a promotional tool we needed more readers so made it a free e-zine after the first year of publishing. That's why some are fee and some are still a buck. We went for 30 or so downloads a month to 1,000 when we made it free so it was a good move in the long run. We're working now on increasing its readership, offering more fiction, free stuff and gaming goodies. I have included here a preview file of some of the figures we will be putting out. Maybe i will do a new preview each month just for this forum.. ;-) Rob Avalon Games Attachments:

And some sketchs of stuff Adam worked up for Nova Blast. He has done a real bang up job for us on this project. I knew he was the right man for the job when I started looking for an artist to do these images. Can't say how much I'm pleased with his work. This is going to be a blast of a game... Yes the first fantasy set is up for sell today. Ricky Hunter did an outstanding job on the art for these figures. He is working on a female set as we speak.

I was working on a similar robot last week. Shows you I shouldn't drag my feet! At any rate, Adam could draw a LUNCH LADY, and it would look awesome. I envy his artistic abilty SO much!

Some feedback on the figures.
Adam's work is outstanding as always. No need to comment on his figures, except to say that I'm anxious to put my hands/paws/tentacles/appendages on them.
About the rest. I liked the fantasy figures, The wizard is very good, the female dwarf and rogue too. Kind of muted in the color choices though. I would play more with colors to make them stand on "tableview"
The zombie in... Weird, there something wrong with the proportions on the feet of the figure, but easily forgiven, given the genre of the figure. The cosmic horror is... different, very disturbing. Well done. Very effective but I don't see me putting something like this on the table against any character group I've played yet. The Too-nia are excellent! The only thing it lacks to make an paper mini is the thick black border to make the cutting easier, and about that, the silhouette of the figure is distinctive and easy to cut, very desirable in paper minis!
Now, the Hive... Sorry, it is very poorly done. Bad perspective (or no perspective at all) very bad cut and paste job of the same parts over and over again, bad textures (or no textures, only a very bad shading). They stand out from the other good figures in a bad way.
With this only exception, I'm really liking the figure collection, and I hope to buy some (Adam's humans and Too-Nia at least)

Skeletons. Several ( great ) artists. Several works' quality. I agree with hackbarth about an overview of the samples ( thanks very much for these ) Set 1- Heroes & Villains by R. Hemminger. Clear lines, colorful figures ... Great set. Set 2 - Adventurers by R. Hunter. Again clear and polite lines, a bit darkish and no shadows/reflex on armors and weapons ( my personal opinion ) but great and very dungeoneers. Great set. Set 3 - Skeletons by D. R. Lerette. ( I'm seeing the pdf now ) Not many colors, no shades, not right proportions from different figures ( imho ), not great clear draw-lines. Kiladecus is better with skull-faces. ;D A good set this time. Not a great set. Ciao

No criticism, just my curiosity ...
After only a day ( from last set ) , why the sets' price has been reduced to 1.99 US $ ( before 3.99 US $ ) ?
Now a very great deal, but not for all. I was a bit too fast.

It was becoming clear that we had over priced the sets, so we cut the price now while there are only a few out there.
While we can't offer a rebate on the old price we can offer a free set to off set the difference some of you paid. Just drop me an email.
We hope the new price will bring on more customers, and this brings it more in line with other prodcuts out there.

But I thank you for kindly offer. I bought the sets with a clear cost. If I bought them because it was right for me. So I don't need personal free sets. But thanks very much. Imho the problem isn't price ( and, always imho, a price too low threatens to kill market and quality is not appreciated ), or not only price: different artists different quality. However if AG offers good figures I will buy them.

In all new previews I am not convinced yet only from alien bugs. There is something in perspective (the mouth ... ) ... I bought the last set ( dwarves ) and I am satisfied. Good figures Good dwarf adventurers and civilians ( ). I have a problem with a my previous purchase. Can I send you a PM? Because RPGNow has not solved it yet. Ciao
