Just starting to build this one. I cut a rectangle out of the roof base to allow me to reach into the roof. This will help with holding the roof edges together as I glue.
I like the modular construction: Roof, Building, Base. I am thinking of doing an extra Building section and turning the roof base over and using the eaves for a balcony between the two building sections ... maybe.

That'd be interesting to see. This model was a commission from my son's old tae kwan do school when they were doing a leadership unit studying Korean history and culture. That's why the preview image has the 'United' banner over the door.

I was wondering what that said.
In ancient times, what type of railings did Korean towers have? It might look more Japanese, but I was thinking of doing a roof print slightly larger and making one of those tier-ed roof things to use as the railing for the balcony. I might not want to go to that much work, though. We'll see.

Here are some examples of Korean fortress architecture;

So the tiered roof isn't as lame as I thought it might be. I'm going to have to give that more thought ... when I'm not down with the flu ...

I have a number of oriental temples and castles that are closer to 15mm than 30mm, so I printed this guy at 4 pages/page. It is a very nice model and very buildable at that size. I'm trying to get my son to take a pic of the Steam Tank sitting next to Paul Lesack's Torii taking aim at my temples and castles in the distance. I hope he'll get over to take the pic ...
