This is my first attempt at creating a printable pitch for Blood Bowl. I'm starting very simple, just to get the basics down. This ZIP contains 3 large JPG files, each 20"x30", with different grid options. Let me know what you think. www.outworld-studio.com/zip/Pitches-01.zip

I like the first one best.... looks more like a sports field without the hard grid Looks absolutely superb. I'm going 15mm with mine all on magnetic sheet for travel BB (the silhouette cuts this beautifully).

First one for me too. But (i know you were waiting for this! ;D ): - there's cross that stands out better than the field lines. I'd make the cross thinner... - the grass seems "out of scale", too big. I'm going 15mm with mine all on magnetic sheet for travel BB (the silhouette cuts this beautifully). Images. Tutorials. Files. Samples. Now.

For once, I totally agree with you, Parduz.
I also want to try a checkerboard pattern, so I might include that with the next version.
Any other patterns you'd recommend?

With "pattern" do you mean a sort of marble floor with 2 -color squares? Or a sort of "shadowing" of the grass like if it was mowed in different directions? (don't look at the caption of the image, it means nothing) In the first case, about other patterns, anything is good: rocks or "rocks and lava", mud with emerging skeletons and skull, a beach (a foreshoe?).... LOL in my brain is born "BeachBowl", with elven chicks in a red swimsuit, dwarven beer stands and surfing tables

That's almost plaid!

Yeah, plaid grass, that's what I meant. Also dyed grass, which you sometimes see. But I haven't figured out a good way to do that texture yet.

They look great. The one without the black lines looks the best. The black lines make it look like a tabletop board game, and less like terrain.` My only advice is to make them more distinct and a little less generic. The board that comes with the game is generic. Blood Bowl players go way out of their way to make custom boards, and the video game makes each field very unique. - Box Set Board
- Old School Astrogranite 3D board
- Elf Medow, on canvas, the one in my subforum
- Dwarven Stone Arena, modded from Skeleton key games, photo print and mounted on foam core.
- Lava Field, 3D painted with LED lights
The Checkerboard mowing pattern would be awesome. Off of the top of my head, replacing the chaulk crosses with wooden or stone ones would make it more distinct. Player safety isn't really a priority in BB.

I thought about just adding a transparent shadow over the grass to make lines. Didn't get to see it implemented. My computer ground to a halt when I tried to add all those additional layers to the field I was working on and crashed GIMP, losing any progress.
