I often want to post something on the there, but my ability on a computer is limited at best and often find that a month is not enough for me to draw, ink and copy onto the a computer etc..etc. I did make a battle hover craft for one month but was to late to post it, (it is first and only thing to date) I have also done drawing for the superheros monthly, but I have not got around to scanning them on to a computer. I know you have people posting there own stuff on there, however I often get lost looking through it all or cant find what I'm looking for spending hours all at some great art and figures. So I got to thinking about the free down loads and monthly hoards, how to get more out of the month hoard selection as it can be very hit and miss. You could have sub-heading in the free section, such as Si-fi, Fantasy, cowboys, Modern day etc... And under those heading have races/category, for example, under Si-fi: future Elfs, War Gear, Robots. Modern day: zombie apocalypse, Career NPC. Fantasy: ..... etc. Then people can just post anytime they want. Keep the monthly hoard, and the best one posted go towards each the monthly free publishing. Or you (or mods) can look in the sub-heading and find what you want to put towards the monthly hoard set.
I know it would give me time to make some stuff and post it up.
Thanks,
Phantombaz

It is NOT my place to say anything, but I haven't seen any other replies. There is a master list on here that says what each topic is for the up-coming months. You can find it here> cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=freefigures&action=display&thread=3353You can submit things for December if you wanted to right now... just start a thread. Secondly, there are many hoards that are still open (even from last year). You can always submit these until the power that be (namely Nik) comes and says, "This hoard is now closed." I hope you find this information helpful, and I hope that no one thinks I am over-stepping my bounds here. Just trying to help!

Thanks for the info...
that's one problem down, however i still have a problem with finding what I'm looking for on here, for example: I'm looking to be starting a game with Zombie for my students, set in modern day, however there is no way to just find zombies etc..., i first have to go looking through peoples work, and i often catch myself on another tangent altogether. I call it the Homer Simpsons effect: "Ooohh look at those dwarfs"....
I just feel that having a list where peoples work can be posted under a set heading would make it easier to find what your looking for.

I'm with Phantombaz on this one. There was a "Hoard List" once, but what we really need is a searchable database that is updated when new things are added. Sounds like a lot of work to me, though, and I can't even use excell. (Or possibly even spell it correctly)

Well, there is only one thing I can do well in this world... Excel! (Did you know there was a 3D flight simulator in Excel '97 that had large monoliths with the programmers names etched on them?) Ok. I can volunteer to make a data base with the classes, races, artists etc. The only thing is I have a couple projects in the works that I need to get completed first. My question is once I create this beast, who and where do I need to turn to get it posted somewhere? I say, give me a little time, and I will have this done.

You can post anything to a HOARD until it is closed. Also you are welcome to submit anything whether it's on topic or not. i first have to go looking through peoples work, and i often catch myself on another tangent altogether. I call it the Homer Simpsons effect: "Ooohh look at those dwarfs".... Now you have found our secret to keep you here for as long as possible ;D Ok. I would suggest posting it with the other list of Hoard Minis. If you are talking about cataloging the whole forum (first WHOA, that's a major amount of work) then we can find a place and stick it somewhere. Probably as it's own thread here in this area. It will of course be pinned.

yes, i have spent hours just going through peoples work, some of the stuff is amazing work, and i have used some free flat to play Mordeim ( A games work shop game, the rules are free on the net) which i had not played for years. so i got the models and introduced my Yank friend to the game, he also had good comments for the models too.

I haven't had time to work on this... as I said I have a BIG project ready to explode, but it will have some of the following criteria which you can search: Race (Elf, Human, Fishfolk) Class (Fighter, Soldier, Wizard) Artist Re-color (a LOT are Big Jim's, and there are people that do recolors) I am also considering a "Category" option which will include Figures, Terrain, 3D model (in the case of things like The Canoe by Grendel'sMother). I considered adding "Scale" but then everything is pretty much 30mm. Things like Jabbro's dragon are 80mm, but it is scaled for 30mm, so that will save some time there. I will try to have this completed by month's end.

Just a thought.. how about adding Si-Fi, Fantasy, Modern day... subject/category headings under those have the races, Efls, dwarfs humens .... and under than have the scale (15mm, 30mm etc) so would look something like this, Fantasy:- Dwarfs:-30mm...
sub-heading could be modern day: Zombies apocalypse , Modern day: War, etc...

Nice idea! Just do not over-complicate it -- better keep it simple so it will work!

Hmmm.... I was going to post what I have so far (just Hoard One at this point) so I could get feedback before I get too far into it, but I can't seem to be able to post pictures here.
Ok... follow me over to my board, and look for "HOARD LEXICON."

I finished this up this morning and sent it off to Nik a few hours ago. It's outta my hands now. There are over 750 figures in this document. If you can't find something on there, then you don't need it! ;D

Nik posted this yesterday. It is under the "Forum Hoard" thread. He has it posted using various formats.
