The theme for this months HOARD is: Halloween
This means scary monsters, undead and other horrifying figures.
If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome.
No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged.
If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. I would like to see as many people try their hand at designing, even if it's just a recolor or figure modification, post something. I know I'll keep my own goals modest, and try to get at least one figure done for each HOARD. JIM

I'll start off this month.
I'll be doing a couple new ghouls and zombies for the undead army, just so I can kill two birds with one stone.
Anyone else doing any undead or horror stuff? JIM

I'd like to put something together for this hoard as well, I'm leaning towards some kind of creepy thin sack faced scarecrow (with a side of crows). But we'll see what comes out when I get to the drawing table.

I don't think we have any werewolf, or were creates at all either! Also a flesh golem, Frankenstein monster.
Demons and devils are also ripe for creating, you can do so many variations. Maybe a demon parts pack! JIM

I was at the La Brea Tar Pits museum this afternoon and was struck by what great creatures skeletal saber tooth cats and dire wolves would make. Now I've got to see if they're in my skill set.

A question: What´s differs to say werewolf or wolfman? or it is the same, are synonymous? In old english "were" = Man and "wolf"="wolf" ;D The words are synonymous, or they should be. But frequently Wolfman conjures images of Universal Studio's Guy with hair spirit gummed to his face

You know, it would be great to have a set of zombies without weapons. Jim's zombie set is great, but zombies do not, generally, use weapons.

In the good ole days of Warhammer, back in the 90s, I used to have 50 zombies with Great Weapons !!! (Great Weapons gave you a great damage bonus but forced you to always strike last and zombies always struck last anyways, so it was a match made in heaven...okay maybe not heaven, but you get the idea)
I could probably kitbash Weaponless Zombies in less than an hour..
I think I actually started doing that at one point, but I mostly just cut the weapons off of the figures and used black marker to cover up the edges.
Eventually, we need to get some more modern zombies.

Yowsa! I have been pretty burned out from work, so have not really been in the mood to draw in the evenings, just burning brain cells on the net. Anyway, I do hope to get cracking on my zombie and ghoul troops this weekend. I plan to design them in parts like the other troops and make multiple versions with and without weapons.
I think my alien dudes are really making my head spin with the backwards legs, so I'm thinking of cropping them just so I can move forward. I can do backwards leg designs later as all the stuff will be parts anyway. JIM

Nice. But I would be concerned that there is not enough solid contact between the mini and the base. I think it would end up being top-heavy.

Well, not wishing to jinx it but I may finally have time for a Hoard contribution this month! Fingers crossed a certain sharp fingered dream demon will grace the Hoard page for Halloween...

The more the merrier I am working on a project too, but i doubt it will be ready. Besides, it fit the theme but not exactly the idea of the hoard, since it is not a paper model (but will need a couple when/if it is finished). It is a tile game with the working title "Haunted Mansion", and is inspired by classic horror movies and Lovecraft lore. The idea is that the players are a group of people that try to escape from a haunted mansion by exploring the house to find clues and keys to help them get out. When (IF!) i finish the game design, i will probably need some graphics for it though. If anyone is interested in hearing more about it and maybe even help with the game, i will post more about it (in another section of the forum though). /Cobra

Sounds like a fun game! I don't think you'd want me to work on it, but I hope someone here rises to the challenge.
