Finger and Toe Models announces the release of two 28mm card stock sci-fi figure sets: SOLDATY GRUNT 1 and Kot’tel Clanfist. Both products come with two interchangeable sets of bases. Each has a base to match the texture of Finger and Toe’s Omega Prime set. The figures are designed as simple fold overs for fast assembly: fold, glue and slide into the bases. Better yet–trim leaving a halo around the figures. The human set includes 41 figures, two sets of bases, and weapons card with blank stat lines so you can use them with your favorites rules sets. The alien set is meant to be generic but intimidating aliens and stand very much taller than the humans. The 24 figures represent the typical Kot’tel close combat force, the clanfist. Also included are two base types, weapons cards, and a brief overview of Kot’tel culture from which their tactical doctrine derives. Visit www.fingerandtoe.com for a slideshow of the two sets figures locked in table top combat amid sprawling Kvartira ruins. Remember, every Finger and Toe model comes with SMOOSH ASSURANCE: if ya’ll smoosh either set of figures, a new set waits your summons from hard drive and printer. Soldaty Grunt and Kot’tel Clanfist available from www.rpgnow.com or www.wargamevault.com for $2.50 each. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

First paper figures' release.
Great figs. Great sets. Quantity, variety, quality. All the top at first release.
Plus bases, Kot’tel background, weapons cards, clear layout ... I am speechless.
It is easy to understand that this is a release right studied before and thought to be of equal quality to previous FAT models.
I prefer grunts ( but only because I'm a bit too anthropocentric ;D ), but objectively the two sets are of excellent and equal quality.
the ( grunts' ) design and colors remind me, although I do not know well why, the very old SJG traveller cardboard heroes. And I've always loved them.
Thanks Glenn.
PS: Are there any small differences between front and back in some figures? Or is it just a my wrong impression? ( mainly in the Kot’tel set ).

I've been waiting for these since I first saw them on Facebook!!
I am not one to cuss, but when I saw the weapons cards (that you can customize yourself) I actually thought, "Oh **** yeah!"
These sets are truly amazing! I am SO excited to finish up my current projects so I can get these guys into some serious ERA OF WAR action!
Great sets, as usual, Glenn!
I won't be able to sleep because I am SO excited to get these printed out and built.
You mentioned that these have the Omega Prime bases, but there is also your "older" (Slagtown) textures here on the bases page, too.
I was so excited to make a new folder on my computer "FIGURES: Finger and Toe." ;D
(BTW, in case you cared, I am planning on doing these like I did Distrigillator's figures with as little "sky" behind them as possible. I LOVE the way you did this on things like whips, so you get the action without having to compromise anything.)

They are CGI renders of 3D models, so the discrepancies you note arew actually artifacts of my "thumbs" in getting the camera angles right. It was frustrating because the virtual camera must rotate around the exact center of the model. The Kot'tel were the first ones done, and so suffer from "training deficiencies" on my part.
Thanks for the kind words, guys.

If you use the "halo" suggestions, and leave a little space around the figures, then it doesn't matter.
I think of these auras as "energy" fields created by the armor. My poor wife had to have the whole Kot'tel codex read to her at bed-time last night.
Very imaginative and dare I say, "Inspirational."

Just one clarification, please. Is it pronounced: KOTE - tell Kott - tell Koddle Koad -tell Not that it really makes a huge difference, because my only discussions about it will be on-line or with friends, but I like to know how it is pronounced for my own satisfaction. It said in the codex that it was like speaking cotney... I am not from England like BilliamBabble. Thanks, Gov'na!

There's a glottal stop between the Ts. Kind of swallow the first T. In fact, the Ts almost disappear completely.
Try this: bottom pronounced BAH-ehm, stress on the first syllable.
Or . . . bag it all and pronounce it any way you like. There's a good chance there's a general somewhere in Interstellar Combat Force who gave up trying to pronounce it correctly, and now all his staff pronounce it exactly the same way. When in doubt, imitate the general, he may be wrong, but you'll never be!

I was wondering about that, too. Thanks for the clarification. It is like my old race of T'Knocians. It is pronounced "SHUN-no-see-uns." People called them "TEE-kog-no-cians." In the famous words of BLAKE STARGAZER, "A good side-arm is the only universal translator you need." Back on topic, I REALLY love these sets in case I didn't mention it. ;D

More product pics please? I totally forgot to update the finger and toe website after finishing in Dreamweaver. Try it again. The slide show shows both sets in an urban ruin. Also, the quick preview option at wargames vault will show you every page.

UTF89,
These would be GREAT for Mel's GC game. The figures are quite amazing, and the sets are WELL worth the $5.00 (combinbed).
Take my word for it. I would NEVER steer you wrong!

Assault rifles, primarily)... and plenty of other firepower to send the Clanfist packing.
