The theme for this months HOARD is Fantasy and Sci-fi SportsThis can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category.

Yes, the HOARD Forums are still going to be published. It just takes a bit to get to them so keep the submissions coming.

Aahh... Blood of Heroes - i love that movie (and futuristic/brutal sports games).
I once tried to create a game build around it myself. Had an idea about a campaign game where you began the game as a small amateur team from the perimeter, and the goal was to improve your team so it would be good enough to play in the Big League in the center of the map/world.
I never got around to finish the game though... ran out of ideas on how to implement my ideas into a decent game.
Hope you have more luck than me - i look forward to it.

If you like the reaction system from Two Hour Wargames, then you'll probably like Qwik. I've had some fun playing a couple of matches with a small court and 2D markers, so I intend to play a full campaign -- essentially, your idea of a team starting in the middle of nowhere and trying to reach the big leagues.
