The theme for this months HOARD is SUPER HEROES & VILLAINSThis can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category.

Oh, I am SO on this!
Sure, my showings in the past have shown a little promise, only to come up short, or not at all, but I don't have as many things going on this month as I have in the past, so let's see what I can do with this!
My first thoughts are a group of Super Heroes! They were there when a FAMOUS group of space explorers were hit with gamma radiation and crashed! No one knows this, but there were paramedics and police on the scene of the crash!
Well, these people that were the first to arrive on the scene were ALSO affected by the radiation. It just wasn't as prominent as the four people that were bestowed with powers... their powers didn't show up for three days.
Once the affects started showing up, a principle medic, Dr. Richard Reed, contacted the other members that were the first to respond. They knew that their abilities and powers combined could be the most FANTASTIC group of super heroes assembled!
Be ready to be introduced to...

Here is the leader of THE EMERGENCY SQUAD. His name is the.... PATROL MAN He has powerful armor that allows him to fly, he carries a super-powerful pistol that shoots high energy laser beams able to cut though most surfaces easily. On his left arm is a retractable nightstick used to render a villian unconscious and makes an excellent melee parrying weapon. There are also many hidden weapons such as a grenade laucher that shoots tear gas grenades, smoke grenades and small EMP projectiles able to shut down many electronic devises for short periods of time. Since all Super Heroes have weaknesses, he has his share as well. 1). He will NEVER operate out of the realms of the law 2). His suit runs on battery cells that can exhaust themselves the longer he employs his most deadly weapons 3). He can NEVER get through airport security. Attachments:

I'm not sure why my phone is posting these pictures side-ways... but at least it's posting them! Here is the second team-member: FIREMAN He has the ability to surround his entire body with flames. His coat, hat, gloves, boots and gas mask are all flame-resistant so he never has to worry about his clothes burning up. His gloves are key! If he took them off, then he would burn his victims. He can not only fly, but project streams of flames that would shoot like a flame-thrower, or creates walls of flames that burn independently for a short amount of time. As with all flames, lack of oxygen or water can extinguish the flames. If he becomes extinguished, then he reverts to his human self. He is very brave, and is an excellent tactician. He uses reason and logic to solve problems and can make split-second decisions as though he were calm, even under pressure. So you see, he is hardly a "hot-head." Attachments:

I ran out of time today to do more sketches and concept art... I hope to have the rest of the set done this week.. maybe early next week. Some more team members are: Stretcher (Dr. Richard Reed) Tanker MedTech and Operator Yes, the WHOLE concept is loosley based on a certain team of super heroes, and EVERY part of it is a pun... The term "stretcher" is what they use to carry wounded out on, as well as meaning someone that can stretch (pointing this out for the people that aren't fluent in English)... So, there you have it. IF time allows, I will do some of my Villians and Anti-Heroes! I don't know, sure Batman is AWESOME, but my favorite "heroes" were the Anti-Heroes... Deadpool Venom Deathstroke the Terminator and so forth... I like their darkside, because they can kill, and might do just that... kind of sinister, but still have their limits. Just my two cents worth!

Does Major Brazil have any friends? I didn't make them in miniatures, but he was one of a group of characters that copied the favorite marvel heroes from the players in a Brazilian setting. There was a Wolverine ripoff, that I can't remember the name, but today I would call him Lobo GuarĂ¡ (Maned Wolf). And a Cyclops ripoff that I don't even know how to translate in a meaningful way to a Brazilian background.

Here is my first villian... (this is a picture of the drawing. I will scan it and so forth tomorrow. It is late tonight). This is ROADKILL! His real name is Wayne "Freeway" Rodgers. He was driving a bus load of children home from Church Camp and as they were traversing the dangerous mountain roads, a storm hit. He sang songs with the children to calm their fears. Lightning struck the bus, and he lost control. The EMERGENCY SQUAD showed up too late. The 45 children were killed in the crash. He blamed them for not saving the children. Driven mad by guilt and anger, he donned the black outfit and used road signs to make armor plates. His shield is made of 4 Stop signs welded together. The bandana we wears on his forehead was taken from the wreck that fateful night. It simply reads : POLICE LINE. DO NOT CROSS. The second part of that phrase is centered across his forehead as a warning: DO NOT CROSS. Being mad, he doesn't see himself as a Villian, but a hero. He will do whatever he needs to do to bring "sinners" to justice. Even kill. Aside from his 300 pound shield, he carries a piece of chain found on the road that night... it is his "CHAIN OF COMMAND." He has a regeneration equal to any other hero out there, and being a former policeman (he was wounded in the line of duty, but his injuries are now gone due to his healing factor) that was shot in the leg. His former partner is believed to be the PATROL MAN. OK... just to base him and do the back... Any input? Attachments:

It looks great. The police tape was a nice touch, and I had to zoom in to see if you photoshoped an actual chain in there.

Are you kidding, I am severely old-school. I tried to email the final figure to you, since it didn't post here. It said your email address was invalid. Just my luck...

the picture opens in GIMP if you click on the link. BTW it is easy to save something in GIMP to another format (png was recomended to me) just select the format when you save and you will have a copy in both xcf and the other choice (in case some here have not yet seen the light and installed GIMP)

I've got a lot to do at work (working from 9 am to 9 pm....) .... and recently got a "complete collection" of Battle of Westeros boxes too (mounting that figures is a pain). I'm hoping... no, i'm sure enough to be able to finish it this w.e. Is it too late?

Bring it ON, Buddy!
I haven't been so excited about a figure since Tommygun did his ABC Warriors... and Reivaj did his THRI-KREEN! I am so excited about that.
I want to see them swarming all over my game table!
VERY COOL!
In a Hero Game, they would be the equivelent of the "Sentinels" in the MARVEL realm.
My only request (aside from finishing them) is to have them scales AT LEAST 32-35mm! THese guys need to be big and beastly, ADAM!
Ok. My two cents worth...

So far we have...
IT Man (but I didn't notice his pocket protector? Did I just overlook it... distracted by the underwear, I guess)
and Captain Brazil (which is actually in another set)
Facing off against...
the Skeletal Power Armor the whole ARMY of Juggernaughts
Then there is Roadkill (which is a combination of Captain America, Ghost Rider, Venom and has the regernation of Deadpool). He is a dark hero. He isn't really "bad" but hardly considered "good."
I think IT man is gonna need some reinforcements!

If you submit completed model scaled properly on a 4mm base it's just a quick cut and paste to add it in, otherwise someone has to take the time to rescale and rebase it.
It's not a huge thing, and I know some people aren't going to know how to figure it out, but if you do, it would be great.
I was the poster child for random base sizes, up until a few days ago, because frankly it didn't occur to me that there was a standard.

I think i'll have no problem. In any case, as i works with vectors, if i do mistakes just tell me. Meanwhile: what's the desired dpi? 150, 300, 600? Again, vectors gives me complete freedom, so i can do what you want.
