It looks really good.
I might suggest that the pieces above the toes need to be that same color as the breastplate. It would be better if the colors tied in together.
Just my thoughts.

Actually i'm just "setting the gradients nodes".... so i can then choose the colors i want and have the same shades and gradients whateve color i use.
Still have to find a good way to draw the hands.
Question:
do you all like more a "bubble head" like this one, or a more "serious", Mecha head?

Why not do both? If you were to do a more traditional version to illustrate what you mean, you'd be half-way to having it done.
Like you said, getting the gradients right is half the battle now.

My suggestion...
Hands are always tricky. I suggest either a scissor/claw or in this case, gun barrels could look really cool! Maybe two or three per arm instead of the hands. Maybe one claw, and one cluster of gun barrels.
That is my take on it.

I hope these figures are OK, I wanted a cannon and didn't have a suitable crew so I modded (press ganged) some of Drywtheharpers imperfect figures. I know it's not in the month's theme but the December hoard isn't open and my roman figures finished up in the Fan Art board. That's not a sensible argument but whatever! Attachments:

I'm officially closing the November 2011 Horde. If anyone has anything they would like to finish, please just submit it to the current Horde.   Anyone want to take a crack at making cutting files for these, so we can get them posted on the main site ? If there is any issue with the layout interfering please let me know, so I can avoid such pitfalls in the future. |
