Myself and a few friends finally got some time to try out axles and alloys 2 ( axlesalloys2.blogspot.com.au/ ). It was fairly impromptu and we were unsure how the rules would play. We played the game using nscale (maybe closer 1/144) micro machines and some foam terrain I threw together the night before. We used the age old conversion of inch's to cm to scale the rules down and this seemed to work well. Anyways everyone had a heap of fun and we plan on playing the game a heap more. More terrain to build for me . Anyways if your looking for a game that doesn't take itself to seriously, give this one a shot. Anyone know/seen some desert paper terrain tiles as I can see a desert board in my future Few picys from our game, more on my blog if your interested: sirrob01.wordpress.com/2012/10/21/trying-out-axels-and-alloys/

Apparently Im just blind or suffering male domestic blindness. Just rechecked Lord Z and he has some nice desert tiles... www.lordzsezseworks.com/22.htmlworldworks and fdg have sets although both are more western themed than generic desert.
