I'm planning to conduct a Paper Models for Beginners class in Corvallis, Oregon in late April 2013. If you're interested, or know anyone who might be, let me so I can send you the information when the date is set.

Oregon's pretty far from me, so I think I'll have to give that one a miss... If you get the lesson recorded and put videos up on your site, let me know and I'll send traffic your way from all my sites.

Yeah, I really should get some videos up on my site. It just needs a total revamp before I can do anything like that... and I don't have a constant or strong internet connection at the moment. But I think teaching and some crafts fair type activities will be good at this point in my career.
Ultimately, I want (need!) to get into the game convention scene as a vendor, and talking with people face-to-face about paper modeling will be part of the job. Up until now, I've been pretty comfortable being low-key and internet-only, but you can only get so far with that. Teaching paper model classes has got me thinking more seriously about printed model kits, which is a step toward getting them into retail outlets or direct mailing -- all that stuff you need to do if you want to do more than just tread water.
