hey guys I'm completely new so if Im violating some posting rules let me know and I won't do it again ... I designed some jet bikes for 40k , thought you might like them ? I'm not really good at posting images on forums in fact it can be quite disastrous, so you can check them out and download them from my deviant art page amadeushopkins.deviantart.com/I'm working on building an entire 40k eldar army in papercraft and I have most of the troops done, though they are not front and back so to speak , been working on the wraith lord next! once I'm finished I will move on to making a complete Tau army and then I will wage a 2000 pt game that cost less that 20$ well I mean after I buy the new codexes and rule books and what not and dice don't count toward the cost who doesn't have like 100 dice lying around ... so ya .. maybe a little more than 20 $ ...

Hey Aaron, welcome to the forum I checked out your deviant art page through your link and the jetbikes look fun. I'm not into warhammer myself but I like your ramblings. Look around here and share your thoughts!

Thanks! I appreciate the page view, I have been lurking around a bit now and I see the over all consensus on the board is one of dislike for 40k and one of serious dislike for Games Workshop... bordering on Hatred. sooo that being said I don't think many people here will care about my jet bike design LOL However I can do fantasy stuff to. I think I will .... hummm what's the most neglected fantasy army?

The design looks fantastic. My dislike for Games Workshop is their cost. If you look at the fort on Forge World, you'll see the origin of Finger and Toe. My wife and I had just come back from a week in Venice--and the newly released fort cost more than our vacation. So . . . paper it is.
The second objection, again overcome by your models, is that Games Worskhop is a bit like the seagulls in Finding Nemo, "Mine! Mine! Mine!" They've wandered some distance from the deodorant bottle land speeder.
Keep it up, show your work here, and--most of all--add some models to the hoards. I get enormous pleasure from the various models I kick in. Plus, the forums are a seminar in design.

ya the reason I started making 40k papercraft is the new Tau /6th edd. when I started playing in '85 you could get the entire game (models, rules and dice ) for under 40$ now to get an entire army/ no rules or codex it's 800$ my first car cost less than that?!! ya and they steal everyone's ideas and are like ya we totally came up with that! it's soo ours no one else made that.... they have fallen far from there early days as citadel and hero-quest that's for sure. I don't know how to add to the hoards!! I so want to!.... I read the post but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me ... and I'm still trying to figure out how to add pics on the forum without it going all wonky ...

The forum doesn't has opinions, it has users. I think the only thing we have in common as a collective opinion is our love for paper miniatures, so if what you want to do is W40K paper miniatures, fire away, someone here is certain to give you feedback and even use what you make.
I ain't myself a client of games workshop, since they closed their shops in Brasil, and when they where open I discovered that I haven't the slightest chance to paint a plastic/metal miniature in a passable way.
Your models seem to have a good presence on the table, I liked them very much, I'll wait for more!
The HOARDs are compilations, they aren't automatic, so you can't add to the HOARD by yourself. What you do is make available the miniature that you want to put in the hoard, and then the compiler of the hoard manually gets everyone's submissions and manually edit a PDF file with them. Making available at DeviantArt with a link in the HOARD thread saying that you submit the miniature for the HOARD is enough. Keep in mind that the HOARD are just something we do for fun, and it may take some time for a HOARD to be assembled and made available at the One-Monk site.

Hi, Aaron. First of all ... welcome! It is always a pleasure the coming of a new extremely talented user. And you are. Excellent works. Bravo! ;D How Hackbarth has already said the forum has no opinion. Users have them. I don't dislike 40K setting. In fact I really like it. I don't like GW policy. Towards customers, employees, anyone (there's a topic on a writer here). but above all I don't like his policy towards his games. Excessive changes ( otherwise they could not always enter too many new products ), simplified and muddled rules. Abandonments of games. His fundamentalism, almost as if it was religion and not fun, which also infects many of his customers. And finally his exorbitant prices ( but his whole policy aims to this last point ). Imho. I really liked, and still like, Citadel, Fist GW and his settings ( more sci-fi than fantasy ). And I continue to collect old Citadel/GW minis ( OOP, OOO, prototypes ... ), but that's another story. My impression is that in this forum there is a prevalence of enjoyment towards fantasy products rather than hard sci-fi paper figures. But this is just my impression and howeverhere there are really good sci-fi miniatures. You have a great drawing and I am pleased to see your next works about 40K ( or other sci-fi settings ). Although I hope you'll try also with the back art. About WH 40k you might find here the Jim Hartman's Tau ( Wonderful. IUnfortunately I lost the pdf with the drones ), Patoroch's death korps of krieg and Jas-ta's Eldars and Space Marines ( jas-ta.deviantart.com/gallery/ ). All other photoshopped figures are really ugly. But I still remember when Jim described the reactions of the other fundamentalists gamers in a GW center. Ciao PS: Due to the letters that GW is usual to send we prefer to speak about his settings in the "FAN ART Member Exclusives" forum's section.

Thanks for the encouragement and kind words. Rhannon it's funny you mention Jas-ta's Eldars and Space Marines it was his stuff on DA that gave me the idea and motivation unfortunately his stuff is way to small when I go to print it out and that's what got me started! his Viper is actually the bases for my jetbikes. you said " Although I hope you'll try also with the back art. " I'm game ... um ... what's back art? I would love to see Jim Hartman's Tau do you have a link I couldn't' seem to find it?
thank you hackbarth for letting me know how that works... wouldn't it be easier to have the compiler get all the submissions in an e-mail rather than having to go all over the web looking for them? so like e-mail you submissions to xyz@xyz.com and they will vet and compile the hoard ?

... I'm game ... um ... what's back art? You excuse me. I'm not a native english speaker, so my mistakes are known here. It is a figure's back design. However, when you see Jim's tau it is clear. Later I send you a PM with links ( my dropbox links ). Ciao
