Would anyone be interested in a bunch of banners and battle standards? I made a texture set a while back with a couple of dozen (at least) and I can make those available. Also, planets? You folks want some planets you can print and use for space battles and what not? I have made many of those as well. Here is an example of some rather vibrant banners. The person who asked for them wanted something less than realistic but nice looking. The top are clean and the bottom are grungey. I can add banner poles or make them fold so they can go over a wall or just make them available to people who want to use them. The planets would look something like this, but no background

I would definitely be interested in a bunch of planets. It would make the table top a little more neat for space battles! ;D

Well, one will never know WHEN he could have use of banners or planets. So why not to build a nice set of printable banners and one of printable space bodies? They're really nice. How do you do the planets?

Planets are sort of easy in any image manipulation software that supports layers. I use Photoshop but GIMP works too. 1) Create a gray scale "sphere". Really it is just a shaded circle but you want it to look spherical so you add light and shadow. 2) Create a new layer and fill it with a nice tiling rock texture that has some nice cracks and what not in it. 3)sphereize that layer 2x and overlay your shaded layer, or hard light. Either works depending on how light or dark your rock layer is. That will give you a basic rocky planet and you can add layers to in order to add different features. This is also an excellent tutorial and I refer to it often fc06.deviantart.net/images/i/2003/38/2/1/Planet_Tutorial.jpg

That is awesome! How many planets and stars have u made so far? Also do you have stars in different colors? They look really awesome! Would make a great pack of printable items too.
Lol this kinda makes me wanna play around with photoshop and figure out how to make black holes/worm holes and nebula's and other space objects.
I like using WWG starships for the game Wormhole, lol. ;D

WOW! Just great! 'til now my source of planets is Celestia and some custom, sci-fi add-ons. But the grabbed screenshot is limited by the screen resolution, which sometime is'nt big enough for hi-res pictures. Being me Parduz, please, SpaceRanger, let me do a bit of parduzzing (our friends will like to explain what it means, if you need): - planets are not "sphere", but "oblated" sphere. The more they're large, and the less they're solid (gas giants is the sum of this) the more oblateness they have. It's noticeable: just look at Jupiter or Saturn. So, the more spherical is a planet, the little it will seem (and really rocky it should be). So, try to squash them a bit and you'll have great gas giants Now, this does'nt mean i'm not liking yours. Instead, i'll grab and store whatever you'll like to share And if it could be possible to have the atmosphere "halo" transparent that will be the perfection Thanks.

Nebulae are very easy to do in anything that handles translucent layers. Use a cloud brush or a cloud filter and lay it over a star field. I don't usually direct people to DA because I dislike their posting policies but you can find a lot of star field and nebula brushes there for GIMP and for PS.
Parduz, I can do a transparent halo, I just figured a black outline would be easier, just like with the figures. Though if I present the final items in a PDF I am not sure if that transparency remains. I thought about making 2 sided fold up planets so that each item has two options.
