A peek at some Cargo Pods for space adventures. This might be my next set for the shop, since it's just two pages and I'm going to have a lot of fun coming up with color schemes and markings. These cargo pods are about 4.5" long and include 6 types of add-on modules, each with multiple mounting locations, so you can give each pod a unique appearance. Expect a few weathering layers too, since these sorts of things always seem to look best when they're covered in rust and grime.

Texturing in progress. This shows a very "busy" option, with most of the panelization, weathering and markings layers visible. This needs some more shading before it's finalized. I'm currently working on the second page of this kit, which features all of the optional stick-on modules. I'm about halfway done with that page, so at this rate the Cargo Pods will be available from the shop around Wednesday.

There's any way to build them so they can be stored "flat"? Just asking 'cause an unfortunate move just squashed half of your houses... stupid me.

Glad to hear it, dcbradshaw! There are a zillion paper "cargo container" sets available for modern settings, so they must be popular. I figured it'd be worthwhile to create the same sort of thing for futuristic settings. It's also sort of a companion kit to my Spaceport Tiles, which have been lonely. I'm planning to release some tiles (maybe as part of the Colony Barracks and Spaceport Tower I'm working on) that will also help to bridge the gap. There's any way to build them so they can be stored "flat"? Just asking 'cause an unfortunate move just squashed half of your houses... stupid me. Sorry to hear about the accident! But no, these are not designed to lay flat.

Oh yeah, I'm trying to come up with some cool "transport company" names that I can add to the cargo pods. Any ideas? So far I've come up with "Union Galactic" but I could definitely use some more.

Uni-Ex, Gal-Ex, Suns-Ex .... Hyper-Space Lightyear-in-a-Minute ... but i think that any cool logo with an acronym will be good acronymcreator.net/ace.py

SPACEPORT CONTAINER "WH40K" KITBASHQuick 'n' lazy kitbash: 25% bigger (because GW never did quite grasp the concept of scale harmony...) and some WH40K symbols stolen from the internet: (Yes, yes, I know I got one of the Aquila in the wrong place (should be on the side, not the top )) Parduz - Actually a "flat-pack" version first came to mind, but as I have the patience of a 6-month old puppy, the solid-box version had to built NOW!

Tried to fix it, made it worse So made another one: The white one with the unidentified markings, has been dated to be at nearly 40,000-years old and is currently under delivery to the Inquisition.

I wonder what the Trucker's Union of the 41st Millenium is like? Somebody has to move those containers around to the battlefields.
