Hi everyone!
So I’ve been out of the loop for a long time, I bet most of the people around here hardly recognize me… not that I ever was that prominent of a figure around here… but before I get into that I’ve noticed a couple of changes.
First congratulations to squirmydad on his new position as the curator of Cardboard Heroes. I hope it goes well for you.
To nik and Sanity Studios, good luck to you as well and thanks for keeping Cardboard Warriors up and running over the last few years. I am fully sympathetic to not being able to keep the pace that you want (that’s the story of my life) and respect your decision to let the forum go. Good luck! Keep Belicose alive!
As for me, I hope this is the prelude to getting Moss Games back into the, uh game, at least a little bit. The short version of all of this is that a couple of years back I wound up with a new day job (yeah, I have a day job, unfortunately I don’t have the talent or fan base to get by on Moss Games). This job was a double edged sword, it gave me more of the sweet sweet money that I needed to stay afloat in this topsy turvy world of ours, but at the same time my free time went down drastically and my stress level went way up (way way way up, I mean like high blood pressure and a rekindling of a long dead smoking habit).
Not to complain too much, stable employment is a good thing, but the side effect was me letting Moss Games and many of my half-finished projects and ideas fade into the background for a while.
I know, everyone is like “Get on with it, no one wants to hear your life story.”
Looks like I have found a way to recapture some of my free time and reduce my stress to a level that can promote being creative again. I am committing to getting back into some game and model design. I’m not sure exactly what shape this will all take, I am in a bit of a planning phase for the next month or so while all of this stuff shakes out.
Still I wanted to drop by and say hi to my old friends and offer some thanks to those of you who picked up a product here or there, or offered some feedback on this project or that.
Hopefully I’ll see you around here once and a while.
