Hey all, I'm just curious as to what you guys are doing with your One Monk minis.
For my part, I'm making an undead warband with the Skeletal Undead as the base and throwing in some ghostly spirits from haunted graveyard sets and a few minis from the free undead sampler set.
My next warband will be a chaos-style one, featuring the Evil Knights, Berserkers, Cultists, Witches, and Demons & Imps for starters.
How about you guys?

I, sadly, have not done anything but build them. I have a hard time getting my friends to sit down and game and there is no game shop less than 10 miles away. As much as I love Seattle, the gaming scene here is pretty lacking.

I've put together several Terrans and Skelebots for a future game using the No Limits rules. Will be building some Hybrids now that I have redesigned the legs so I can base them like I do my Terrans and Skelebots.
Also, I've recently purchased Mutants and Death Ray Guns, and will be working on some figs for that games--will probably get double duty out of the above mentioned Terrans and Skelebots. Just bought the Apocalyptic Zombies and Mutant Monsters, and planning on buying 2.5D Slaughterers for the same game. I will also build some figs from the monthly sets and might even buy/build from a couple of fantasy sets as they have some figs that actually would work with MDRG.
On top of that, I am also building some terrain for the above mentioned games--it is almost exclusively from World Works Games (just love their stuff), but I did buy the set Concrete Wastelands from RPGNow. Not as detailed as WWG, but it will give me some quick builds to get me going. I have plans on kitbashing some of the Urban Mayhem sets to build a ruined city-scape, but that will take me some time as I will not only do the external structure of the buildings, but will add some internal elements to the damaged structures as well (highly influenced by Fallout 3!). But that is probably a project for a different day--most likely next year! For now, I'm building some terrain and props from WWG's Mars Station and Platform Command series, and I have plans for a "underground bunker" type setup using their Firstlight series and maybe even their Caveworks set.
And if that wasn't enough, my son (who is 12) and I have been talking about doing a Mordheim/Mordheim-like game. It doesn't help that Jim is doing some fantastic work with his fantasy line, nor does the fact that my son looks over my shoulder while I'm browsing the catalog and says, "That's cool, Dad. I'd really like the skeletons. . . and the Trolls, and the Villains set," etc. So, I trying to (very slowly) design some ruined fantasy buildings--will probably use WWG again for this as well as the links provided by dagobahdave in the New Artists Design Gallery forum, under Whole slew of fantasy buildings--thanks for the link btw, excellent stuff! Having said that, now I have to destroy them! As mentioned above, I will want to kitbash some internal elements into these . . . someday!
Wow, I really went crazy there. Guess its time I get back to work on these projects . . .

Ah, yes, I probably should've mentioned that I'll be using Song of Blades and Heroes with my skirmish forces. Once the Savage Worlds Test Drive gets redone I'll be doing some work with that system as well.

Too be honest I'm kinda in the same boat as Kane. The Gaming scene here in NC is worse then any state i have ever been in. I had a gaming partner for a time there but he unfortunately passed away from cancer be for I discovered this site he would have gone crazy.
I have always had more of a modeling itch then a gaming one. I'm old and remember warhammer 40k when it was rouge trader and got back into it a little in 3rd edition. Heck you go into a game store now and say the word Bloodbowl and people look at you like your from mars.
Alas my joy is and has always been creating, painting and building minis with the intent for them to sit on my shelves and look imposing to anyone who enters my domain. Actually since i have been evicted out of my game room by my daughter I have taken up residence in the unused laundry room that is off my hallway between my living room and kitchen. So when we have guests over there is always conversation started about the weird looking "toys" that have a very menacing feel to them in the hall (aka my 9000pt painted nid army)
over the past year I have gotten hooked on paper minis so much that I have not bought a single metal or plastic figure. Rather made a list of things I want to create when I get the skill and the time.

Rather made a list of things I want to create when I get the skill and the time. The gaming scene in central Maine isn't so hot, either. While there is a game store in my town, it's not very good and doesn't carry a wide range of products. The next nearest game store is 75+ miles away and I get to it roughly once or twice a year. I spend at most a half-hour there and almost never buy anything. I've been in the RPG/Wargaming hobby for 20 years and it sure has changed a lot. These days I like simpler rule systems like Song of Blades. I also paint minis, though I recently switched to 15mm from 28mm due to quicker painting speeds. This leads me into paper miniatures. I really didn't get into them too much until One Monk's stuff. I can crank out a few figures a day and have a decent-sized, good looking warband in a short amount of time with minimal fuss. While a typical game of Song of Blades uses 5-10 models at a time, I can crank out 30 figures and have a nice selection to choose from for each battle. And thanks for mentioning Bloodbowl. Now there's a sadly missed game. Maybe someday, far in the future, Jim will bless us with teams of crazy fantasy races playing some weird rugby/football mish-mash on a cool cardstock stadium. Well, I can dream, anyway.

Maybe if we beg, whine, and bribe Jim into doing it, maybe we can get him to squeeze a couple football themed minis to celebrate the greatest holiday of them all, the Superbowl! Well it will be the greatest if the Chargers can somehow pull it off...

well, technically, the game is still "active." They do update the rulebook (which is free to download off their specialist games sections) and put out some minis once in a while.

"Active" and "Supported" are two different things, though. You'd think that as popular as football is here in the States, Bloodbowl would have more of a following.

The problem isn't so much the following of it. Like most of GW's "other" games, plenty of people enjoy them, but for good of ill, GW has decided to focus almost solely on the "core" games; mainly because that's where the money is. If there has been a major drop in following of the specialist titles, it's because of the current narrow focus.
Games like bloodbowl, mordheim, ect. require only a handful of minis per person, unlike 40k or fantasy, which require tons just for 1 small army. I can't really argue with them choosing to go with the product lines that provide more cash flow; that's just good business sense.
I've probably just restated things that have been said millions of times before, so I apologize.

My big fear is Warhammer Fantasy becoming a second tier game. It is WAY behind 40K and LotR. While those are both solid games, WHFB is a classic that still holds up.

I never got to the point of getting too heavy into Warhammer just because I find the price of the minis to be prohibitively expensive for what you get. Yeah, they're nice, but I don't have a bottomless wallet, either. Hence, paper minis and skirmish battles rather than lead minis and mass battles. But I digress.
Still, I always wanted a fully painted Dark Elf army. Of course, I always wanted a fully painted Roman Legion. Sigh. Never the time or money. Maybe I'll have to switch to 6mm figures to get that legion up and running!

The fantasy line is my favorite place to go for most minis (at least before discovering One Monk adn all its glory). They cost way too much for trying to field an army, but for games like talisman or warhammer quest, the higher price isn't so bad since its only one or two.

I found Blood Bowl much more fun with a group of friends rather than any pick up games with other gamers. The game only really plays well if you can play a season, and that means playing with the same group. The goup I used to game with is all grown up and have moved on to other things. For some reason I just can't find another group I feel comfortable in. Someday. I know I was a huge Warhammer Fantasy player, I had a 15,000 point Empire army that was feared by all, except by those who actually played against me. I focused on color scheme and and shading, when everyone else was focused on tactics and game play, ha! what do they know. I know I'd eventually like to get to the point of fielding huge armies of paper figures, like maybe 300 figures strong. That would look like an army. JIM

I've got a tactical squad of 12 Monobots now!
I haven't rolled any dice with them yet, but I can't imagine it will be more than a week or two. I'll probably home-brew some rules.
Have fun! Steve
P.S. - Sci-fi idea: "Alpha Centaurs". Maybe Jim will take that on since he's so fond of horses at the moment ;D

I must make a guilty admission in that I haven't actually bought any of Jim's figs yet; I only have the free downloadable stuff. I intend to pick up a few bits soon, though.
Like several of you, gaming's not really something I get much chance to do nowadays. The only place I know of to play is the GW store in the city (though I'm sure there are others I just haven't found out about yet), and obviously the scope for what gets played there (and what with) is pretty limited. I used to play 40K regularly with friends back home, but I moved a few years ago, and haven't picked up a new group here in Nottingham.
However, I am working on a versatile mini-game ruleset, and given the time investment required to model traditional figs (as much as I love it, I have other things I like doing too, and there just isn't enough time for everything), paper models seem the ideal medium for playtesting it. So I'll be investing in a few of Jim's sets, as well as designing some of my own.

I've built Terran Force Soldiers, Marines, Zeroids & all of the Hybrids(except the 2.5d Slaughterers( in 15mm scale and am using them for Ebbles Miniatures game of GunCrawl.
I've just started assembling a few fantasay warbands for use with Song of Blades and Heroes and Gold and Darkness.

fl0ydski,
How did the hybrids go together at 15mm? I have been working on a set of paper space marines in this scale. Unfortunately I can't post pics or ever release the files on line because there exact copies of GWs stuff only with 2d figs and 3d tanks.

I'm currently playing Song of Blades & Heroes. I've got 30 or so figures cut out and need to base them. Probably do that next weekend 'cos I'm busy all week now.
I've re-scaled Jim's Sea Elf to turn him into a Sea Giant, and I'll mix him in with Jim's Deep Ones set to make a Deep Ones warband. I'll show pictures when they are all based.
SBH is my current passion (for the time being).
