Hmm, I like the idea, but I think there need to be a few more notches in the top/back so it will fit around the head. Or am I missing something?

That's his belly. The top edges glue to each other

Ah-ha, and it is back-to-front as well.

Some nice lizard textures and less cute eyes would actually make this a very nice model. I really like the design. Simple and efficient. Of course, you'd have to mirror print the back to have textured insides for the legs ...

Or, since you are going to Gimp to texture anyway, there is room for copies of the hind legs over the instructions and the front legs could be fit in somewhere. Then you can have inside leg textures and stiffer legs to boot.

Sorry, my skill is more as a builder than a designer. I have a good eye for whether something will go together well, but texturing is beyond me. Speaking of 'eye' ... Tekzo has a new model that I think would translate well to 2.5d.

Wow, you may be right, but my imagination is failing me on how that plane might convert to 2.5d I did just watch a few GIMP tutorials on making scales. They don't really give a very uniform scales, and I completely didn't understand how to make them follow the contour of the model, so yeah, I think "scaling" the velociraptor is beyond me.
