Before I ventured into the Wild West, I had an idea for a science fiction game based in a desert town called Serenity. This was to be the backdrop for a Hammer's Slammers scenario using my Stargrunt minis and TOPO's hover vehicles as Legion Vaubecourt. The release of Glenn's Refinery and Pipeline sets led to Serenity being an oil town. Sadly that project had to be shelved as I couldn't get the support from club members to play the game at conventions. I'm posting picks of the terrain and vehicles here, as I think some of you will like them. First up is the Refinery. The security compound was redesigned when the Pipeline was completed and will feature later in the thread.

Aw...... what a bunch of spoilsports. That's a great looking refinery and it's just begging to be the focus of a game/campaign.

It's huge! I don't think I've ever seen the refinery models in a tabletop context. Pretty awesome.

Oh, that looks great! The most recent Mad Max trailer this summer got me excited about doing this sort of thing myself.

The tallest cracking tower stands 3 feet over the table. I'll post more pictures in the next few days.

The complete table as it appeared at War Torn 2012 What is the group of buildings that create a small walled compound in the lower right of this pic?

The "small walled compound" is a Rancho built from Glenn's Adobeville set. Dave Graffam's Watch Tower was included (with other buildings by Dave)at Border Reiver 2012. It really is a superb model but a tricky build. I will be posting pictures of alternative layouts and featured buildings over the next couple of weeks.
