My parents got our family tickets to see The Art of the Brick (http://www.bostonbricks.com/) which was a nice treat - they have a nice tradition going of getting us tickets to events rather than more toys. But, there are still enough toys to go around. I got a nice collection of Litko bases for my standees. I love them!

I got a smartphone. My family thought it was about time to get rid of the ol' Nokia C3 (I guess they were right). It's funny, I wan't the latest in desktop computer tech, but when it comes to phones, I'm in the Dark Ages. I gave my nephews Heroclix boosters.

459 minutes of pure enjoyment. What did anyone else get? "I, ah... completely approve of this here message... and as always, keep your stick on the ice." I got a new cutting mat, new blades and exacto knife, a ream of very beautiful paper, more ink for the printer, and the Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide. The only thing I asked for that I didn't get was a pack of Litko bases

my dad got me a cowboy hat that didn't fit, and a bullwhip that wouldn't crack.
got some nice stuff from my wife and in-laws though, a Bluetooth speaker for my ipad, a $50 best buy giftcard, and a memory foam pillow.

Movies included Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Captain America - Winter Soldier. Books included Doctor Who Character Encyclopedia. The fanciest present was a glass teapot and Jasmine tea. My mother took the girls over New Year and my wife and I went to the cinema to watch the final Hobbit movie and Woman in Black - Angel of Death.

The fanciest present was a glass teapot and Jasmine tea. You don't by any chance know someone who works for a nutty private Boston-area-based software company, do you?

The nutty private Boston-area-based software company is the company I work for. Last year's Christmas gift included a fancy glass teapot and fancy Jasmine tea. It was part of a remarkably odd collection of things we were gifted.

Some tiny folding metal star wars models that assemble in a similar fashion to paper models, no glue required, but I do need my glasses and tweezers to build them.
Oh, and a vicious 2-week head cold with nightmares.
