I'm not familiar with this designer - do any of you know them?
It's hard to tell what's going on, as the video is actually pretty bad (I recommend turning the soundtrack off, as no one talks on it.) It LOOKS like you get multi-story terrain through creating a large number room sized boxes, with the video showing a LOT of what looks like 2x2" ones, but it's hard to tell.
I dig fold-flat and multi-story, but am a bit nervous about another system for walls. I can't see how these little boxes are all holding together or how they line up nicely for the floors...
Anyone know these guys, or the system? Are they active here?

I looked at it, first time I've heard of them, but it does appear to be what you say, a bunch of 2x2 cubes inside, either cut with doors, windows, archways, or more open sides... I'm not sure on how the outer building surfaces get attached to the inner cubes, or how different levels get attached to each other.

Some of the things that look like 2x2 are actually larger rooms, but they have rafters in the ceiling that divide them up, presumably so you could put one of the small rooms on the floor above and not have it fall through. I could not see what it is that holds the "modules" together. They say they are going to post more videos, so maybe all will be made clear.

I've watched the video through a couple of times, and if you look closely - or are quick with the freeze-frame control at the key moment - at various times after about the two-minute mark, it looks as if the 2 x 2 modules are placed onto flat "trays", one tray for each floor, with a raised edge to stop the modules sliding about - so you can lift off an entire floor at a time. It's possible those levels above the ground surface have an underhanging lip as well, to fit over the modules in the layer on the floor below, which would give greater stability, but I couldn't see this if so.
Can't seem to find much out about the creators though, and I'd have assumed if they were active here, someone would have posted by now. Seems to be a first time project, and I think we can all appreciate how steep the learning curve is for KS newbies!

cowboyleland, I thing those "rafter" in the larger rooms are just some of the 2x2 cubes with A LOT of material cut away.. or possibly longer strips to fit between cubicles. wyvern, thanks for taking the time to look that hard at the video. If so, those tray lips would then give a place to anchor the outer skins to.

The designer has responded to my comments on the kickstarter - and has promised more photos and videos.
I'm happy to see that and look forward to learning more.

The extra picys are up on the main page, I'm still not 100% how it works but it gives the idea: edit stumbled on this one which appears to have been updated

It looks interesting, but I'm still not sold on the the entire 2x2 cube idea.. But they do have some fabulous 3D effects in their textures, at least from the sample of the Crypt they've posted up.

I'm not convinced either and won't go "whole hog" on an unproven designer/geometry model.
But, based on these photos, I decided to back this project at the same level that I might invest (purchase a model or two) in a new designer showing up on RPG now. As many of you know, I like to encourage new designers to explore their talents, at least a little bit. :-)
If you think of it this same way - consider the $5 or $10 backer level.
There's enough talent and ingenuity there to encourage a new entrant to our ranks.
Now we've just got to get the designer to sign up here. :-)

The image that has me most intrigued is the top of the large castle on the table picy. In the below picy you can see a large rectangular gap on the front and rear with the top resting on the left and right sides but with what appears to be a full roof. From what I've been able to workout in my head as to how this works I can't see how that huge hole works without the top dropping in, it would seem to indicate larger module sizes but maybe something we can't see either way I'm really curious to see how it's done .

That crypt actually looks pretty cool so I threw $10 at the project. Fulfillment is supposed to be in April so I shouldn't have to wait long to see how well my money spent.

I quote Sirrob01, the castle is really intriguing. I'm not a FFF (fold flat fan), but the overall look is good and the system seems to be easier the the WWG stuff... I'm looking for further images and details.

New video shows the creator explaining and demonstrating the system. Bumped my pledge to get the stretch rewards (including a new awesome looking blacksmith.)
The builds are more precise can sturdy than the typical fold-flat system. I'm intrigued and impressed more than I expected to be.

Also I think this is a great project. With a great potential. But if I have to define myself in a few words I would say that I am a compulsive paper minis collector more than a skilled cardboard models maker. So for me ( objectively the cost may be right ) a 120 $ pledge for the complete city diital files is a bit too expensive. Imho.

I like the new video, the blacksmith's shop looks good, upped my pledge to $25, not sold on the 2x2 cubicles for larger setups though-mainly because it looks like an impediment to mini and finger placement. Love his fold-flat ramparts though.

I'm intrigued by this, and hope they offer it out to the general public after the kickstarter finishes, as unfortunately I'm not in a position to pledge towards this, but would be interested in picking it up piecemeal in the future. Also I think they have a 4x4 cube design that i saw for the crypt I believe, besides the 2x2 cube design. one thing that i have is that the cubes look a bit tall, so I concur with squirmydad about the finger/miniature placement..
