Going through the Ebbles Files brought back some great memories. Only I've given so many away, so I decided to go back through and rebuild the fleet and keep them this time. Starting with flyers that I hadn't done before. A while back I did a shuttle, then the hummingbird, so now I present the Gyrfalcon. And with the other two. There are still a few 'never-built' models before I go back and do Perchies, UD-41's and Crotales again. Although I might have to throw in a few of these old favorites before I finish the never-built's

I've never built a Gyrfalcon but I do have a pile of Shuttles and Hummingbirds.

Actually, I like the Gyrfalcon, but I don't remember ever seeing any builds of it anywhere, so I figured it needed to be high on my list. All that armament reminds me of an old photo I saw of a chibi A-10 Warthog with a boatload of armament.
The A-10 is such an ugly but useful close air support vehicle. Someone ought to do a Sci Fi version

That shuttle might be a good build project to work on with a 9 year old. Big parts and simple folds. Good looking fleet.

I think we are going to do the small version of the Shrike. Wings fold over, then build the top and bottom and attach. And there are so many different versions of them, that I think he will be able to do this one with a lot of supervision, the next with less supervision and then a few on his own. Then we'll move up

Wait! Do my eyes (or memory) deceive me, or did you shrink the UD-41? Like the texture mix redo.

Where did you get the landing pad you used for your photo displays?

The Landing Pad is Dave Graffam's Spaceport. It might even still be on sale

Wait! Do my eyes (or memory) deceive me, or did you shrink the UD-41? Like the texture mix redo. That looks like the original UD-41 from 2005. In 2010 or thereabouts, I parked a Percheron next to it and was surprised to discover that the Percheron was nearly as big as the UD-41, so I decided it was time for a re-do. I scaled the UD-41 up by around 1.5x and redid the texturing to preserve detail resolution at the larger scale. It also received a functional interior cargo bay and Vulcan-style hardpoint attachments for landing gear and weapon systems, along with repositionable engine pods.

Yep, it's an original. I still think it looks good

Thanks. I thought I needed my eyes checked... well, I DO, but that's another story.

Okay, Vermin King, I've looked and am still stumped... "Fei Qiu"?

No instructions. No tabs. Chris threw it up on the old Ebbles Forum for anyone brave enough to attempt it.
I was going to post some photos, but the image upload isn't working ... I'll try again later
And the only image on an internet search left off the nose gun...

Those are Chris's from the zip file. After I finish a gift for my girlfriend's birthday, I plan to start it, though

After much shaking of my head, I put it away for now. If you have any more photos, I'm sure it would help

Actually, yours are the only photos I know of. I don't think Chris even has any. Nice work! I love that beauty shot of the snarly face flanked by nose cannons.

Unfortunately, those are the only pictures I have (I didn't think to take any w.i.p. ones). To be honest, the model itself isn't as difficult as it seems. The important thing is to just take your time to determine which edges go together, use the photos as a guide, it's surprisingly intuitive. It doesn't show too well in the photos, but I edged each piece with a Black Tombow and used thin strips of newspaper, coloured black with a Magic Marker, to attach them together. I found the best way was to fold the newspaper strips in half lengthwise and glue them to one piece first , with the fold lining up with the edge. This gave me the best fit.

I've been playing around, trying to figure out where I want my tabs. I'll probably do that rather than using join strips

Yeah, that model is...something. I keep it around to remind myself not to let my head grow too fat as a designer.

I keep pulling this up, and deciding what I did was not right. Maybe my next model will be something 'horse-drawn'...
That or a Doomball
