SlideShowThese are a few shots I have of a little corner section I am making to take photos on with all of Jim's new Fantasy work. I have three walls sections and two arch sections, one of the arch sections I have placed a walkway on - so far. Other than the glued walkway nothing else is glued together. I am trying to find the sweet spot of all and then work out all the flocking etc. I am thinking of adding a doorway on one of the walls but again unsure if to place it up on the walkway or down on the lower lever. Also I was thinking that the lower level could either have a waterway on it or just be water - a walled section with walkway(s) that is sitting over water. There are a number of other options too that I am playing with. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood

Very nice! I believe Ab used CastleWorks Ultimate and Cathedrae Noctis: Requiem from WorldWorks Games

Kane's right - Hellworks II & CWU from WWG. The torches come from MiniChunk also from WWG.
See I don't know if I want a horse shoe shape or just a ledge?

The colors look really nice. What paper stock are you using for the terrain, because that's what I want to use as well. JIM

The paper is a standard 200gsm for a laserjet. I pay about $20AU ($13US) for a ream of 250sheets. It gives a nice stiffness to any build and your figures come out a treat, though anything the size of the goblins are a slight pain due to the fineness of the cuts vs. the thickness of the glued cardstock. I would most likely either put up with it (that is my prefered option) or drop to about 160 - 170 gsm. Must say it's nice to build terrain, I just don't have the space to muck around with much these days hence the small palm sized sets. I am itching to do a 15mm 3D build of the game - Dead of NightLord Abaddon of Wormwood

Ab those look great. Both the figures and your mini-Diorama set using CWU. I like the way OneMonks Dungeon Adventurers pop out of the realistic monotoned stone scenery like that. Good choice...
That really has me wanting to build small scenery pieces like that myself. And flesh it out with a bunch of props. (Crates, Barrels, Chests, etc.)

I have been wanting to do some diorama sets as well, and replicate the original AD&D monster manual cover, top level , dungeon level under that, and finally a cave level beneath that. Just something simple I can put into a shadow box to hang on the wall to show off the monster figures. JIM

That would be a great idea Jim. It was large Dioramas back in the early eighties that piked my interest into minis & Gaming - pure RPG hit first (RuneQuest & Dragon Warriors) with Car wars and BattleTech. Minis didn't come about for me until I got into 40k - I held out until 2nd ed was out.
This needs props but I am unsure what to do as I haven't really worked out the location yet - is it a underground/inside scene or is it on the outside in a courtyard or a walkway?
Shadowbox....
Any ideas on how to construct one?

I just wait for sales at the local HOBBY LOBBY store. I cot a few boxes that are 18x24x 3inches deep, perfect for a side view dungeon layout.
Constructing your own involves woodwork, and tools which I don't have access to. JIM

Thinking about it I could knock one together from Foamcore, glue and tape. Or even Matt board. Just need to get a cheap $2 shop picture frame for the front....
Maybe.
