OK so to go along with the High elf theme I have been doing lately I present the High elf Sky Chariot!
I love this model because it's the one most people hate LOL
It's crazy stupid to think it would actually work or even be practical in battlefield situation out side running emergency supplies, or maybe given a sorcerer a better vantage point to cast spells, it seems ridiculous and superfluous to put a single archer or any single person in this crazy chariot .... that not only defies the laws of sanity it defies the laws of physics it's not a matter of where he grips it! a five ounce bird can't carry a one pound coconut! and it's for all these reasons that this is the quintessential High elf unit. it's the in your face, I did it because I could! it's the flaunting, taunting, I dare you to try something like this your sorry lesser races unit that you would only find in a high elf army. So I had to have one.
That being said this is one of those models that is deceptive in it's complexity. nothing on this model is hard to do unless you don't do it in the right order.
I follow the netel bat instructions for those of you who can't wait for me to finish the Chariot instructions ... they are coming it just takes me a long time to make them ... I know how it goes together but it's not always easy for me to make it clear to anyone else LOL so some quick tips .
Make the eagle base first !! then add the eagle body to it at a slightly upward pitch. add the eagle legs but not the wings until last as the hitch and harness lines will attach to the eagle body ...the elvs are different to cut them out like normal glue only their heads then cut their bases to make tabs to glue to the floor of the chariot ..............ok ok ok I'm going to go put all this in a doc with pictures and arrows and numbered parts .... but for now here you go !
LOL
* EDIT * ok so I made some edits to the model for two reasons 1. to stay in compliance with the rules of the contest. the driver (though it looks very similar to squirmydad s elves)it's an original model but the javelin thrower was a Hotrod of squirmydad s high elf models... this whole thing is supposed to compliment his army so I have been trying to make it as seamless as possible, but that violates the rule that all parts have to be originals.... second it's kind of dumb to have a single Javelin thrower in a flying chariot so like I said in my earlier rant , a good use would be a sorceress, not only would she be more mobile and able to put spells where they need to be faster but she would have a better vantage point over the battlefield and if things go badly she can use her magic to keep the rig airborne long enough to get it to safety. I put a lager pic of her up here so you can see the model better for judging purposes LOL it's probably a violation of something and if it is I will remove it.... but until then here it is !
