Parduz: : your "filter" excludes OkumArts minis, so if my memory is'nt wrong i'll go digging in the Imperfect collection: if you don't find an archer the stile is so "hand drawn" that i guess you can mod one of the existing female miniature. Oct 17, 2021 22:43:35 GMT -9 *
cowboyleland: Can anyone point me at a female archer? Preferably more early medieval historical than fantasy. Oct 16, 2021 20:09:23 GMT -9
creyates: Oh I agree! virtual gaming is definitely nice to have as an option, but its not the same as crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing their lamentation in person! Oct 7, 2021 5:25:43 GMT -9
Parduz: Obviously this could sometimes bring some...not-well-received person, but that's normal. All i wanted to say was that virtual-gaming is the least favorite, and playing with strangers makes me retain from taunt and cry and do my stuffs as i do with friends. Oct 6, 2021 10:26:19 GMT -9
Parduz: Oh, i think i've not explained myself: i've no problem in playing with strangers: our gaming group was made by more than 30 ppl, wiht 5 to 8 tables per night, and someone always brings a new friend or someone curious about us or the games. Oct 6, 2021 10:20:33 GMT -9
squirmydad: I've found it much easier to step into a game of 40k Kill Team at the game store than to step into a game of D+D. Oct 6, 2021 9:08:28 GMT -9
squirmydad: True, rpg groups are often about personality mixes, some personalities don't play well with strangers. Oct 6, 2021 9:07:37 GMT -9
creyates: I think wargaming may be a little narrower in its scope than rpgs, especially when you're all playing the same game. I feel like we all had a mutual understanding at least at that level from the get go. Man, I miss playing in tournaments! haha Oct 6, 2021 5:09:46 GMT -9
creyates: We had all sorts of people playing. I remember there was a father son duo (60 and 18 or so) playing at the same tournament. Oct 6, 2021 5:08:25 GMT -9
creyates: It is interesting to hear your guys' opinions. My experience playing Warhammer back in the day (6th ed) and Kings of War more recently, has been quite the opposite. I've found those communities to be very welcoming to new players and quite diverse! Oct 6, 2021 5:06:23 GMT -9
Parduz: Could someone point me to a downloadable vector file for the Silhouette Cameo centering markers? I can't find mine, and googling fails to give me a download.... Oct 5, 2021 11:09:45 GMT -9
Parduz: I feel lucky to have that friends, yes. I know most of them from my teen age, some of them from primary school, a couple from before i can recall :D Oct 5, 2021 11:08:21 GMT -9
ewing9593: I respect all of your points, I guess I've just never had the pleasure or privilege! Very envious of your gaming groups folks! Oct 5, 2021 10:01:38 GMT -9
ForestB: Plus it loses something with strangers...decades of inside jokes, gone...especially if there is an age difference. I play with MOST the same folks as High School, and the new guys are friends of those players, so we mesh well. Oct 1, 2021 21:30:07 GMT -9
ForestB: Same for me, I do not like playing games with strangers. I don't like editing what I say or do (and god help you today if you don't)...convention gaming, non-starter for me. Oct 1, 2021 21:28:22 GMT -9
Parduz: Also i'm very not competitive, so i almost never play just to win but to enjoy the time with the friends (and taunt them :D ). Oct 1, 2021 3:11:35 GMT -9
Parduz: Well, for me the whole gaming experience (boardgames, RGPs, videogames) has always been tied with WHO i was playing with. The same boardgame can be wonderful or boring depending on who are the other players. So it's very rare for me to play with strangers. Oct 1, 2021 3:09:32 GMT -9
ewing9593: I'm not an overly confident RP'er, even when it's audio only. So the idea of having that extra barrier to hide your awkwardness is actually a big help. Sept 30, 2021 7:32:19 GMT -9
ewing9593: Or facebook etc Sept 30, 2021 7:31:40 GMT -9
ewing9593: I even played in a couple of one shot games with complete strangers. My one critique of the whole system would be that it's very easy to become distracted (myself included) You can actually quite clearly and quickly identify those who are scrolling Amazon Sept 30, 2021 7:31:38 GMT -9
