Over the weekend (2016 Sep 10 & 11), the Papermau blog added two new free 3D building sets in an ancient Egyptian style, both by Mauther himself! * Egyptian Elements For Dioramas, RPG And Wargames (a complete pillar and a series of box forms that will work for walls, floors, roof supports atop a line of pillars, etc.) and * Collapsed Egyptian Column Paper Model For Dioramas, RPG And Wargames (a broken version of the pillar column in the first set, with full textures on all external surfaces of the pieces, so you can easily make a still more broken version, by keeping the various pieces separate). Better still, Mauther's promising that all the pieces in the first set will "soon" be available also in a ruined version! [Edit: Check my later posting for the direct download links, if you have problems downloading the models because of AdFly.]

My computer wouldn't allow me to download the Collapsed Column, probably because of AdFly, but it did allow the first set, Egyptian Elements, to download. I had planned on coming back to it later to see if I could download before announcing. Did you have any issues? Since he switched to AdFly, it has been hit or miss on being able to download his models

I couldn't get it to download at all. I am very sad, as I am really into Egyptian stuff and that all looked like it would be just the thing.

Sorry to learn some of you have had problems downloading these. I've been offline for about two months, so have been catching-up lately, but using a new computer after my previous one expired, so hadn't realised Mauther had changed to AdFly - I thought it was just some pop-up advert variant on that day. Obviously not. I had no download problems using Chrome, but the ad window is a real pain, one of those "sticky" sites that forces you to click to leave it, or that throws up a "download" box, not telling you what it is you'll be downloading. While I'm reluctant to set a precedent, because I'd guess Mauther is able to run his site for free downloads because he also accepts that means these wearying - not to say clearly problematic-for-some - adverts, the direct download links for these two PDFs are as follows. My feeling is the folks here aren't in general liable to run amok with ad-free access to two download pages. Naturally, if there is a problem in my doing so, I'll remove them, but for now: * Direct link to PDF for Egyptian Elements For Dioramas, RPG And Wargames. * Direct link to PDF for Collapsed Egyptian Column Paper Model For Dioramas, RPG And Wargames.
