The theme for this month's HOARD is Out of Time This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of January, 2017. A sort of anything goes topic. Prehistoric, Ancient Peoples, Medieval, Modern or Sci Fi. Or a mix of them all. Laser-wielding Musketeers on Dinosaurs would fit right in. I intend to add my Medieval Coaches to this Hoard. I haven't decided on whether to have a Disruptor or Anti-grav units attached or not. Have fun. Let those creative juices flow

Victorian Science Fiction and Alternate Universe would also fit in here.
To really make this pop, we need to have a wide assortment of stuff

I'm not sure if folks are just busy, or if this one is confusing.

I thought of doing some recoloring work, but as the title of this month's hoard says it all, Out of Time.
It it stays that way, I recommend we rename it to Out of Submissions.

I am actually working on something for this one. Two somethings, actually. With the possibility of a third. Kind of a matching set.

By the end of the month, I'm going to post my Ghosthunter Mobile here. This really old VW bus is ripped from its time and put to use our days for carrying the ghosthunters from last month's hoard into action...

The Super-Simple Coach should be done today, if I put just a little time into it. Here's where I'm at. Need to do the front and back decks and probably put a bottom plate between the wheels still The fold-over sides will give extra support. I put the fold at the bottom so that the tabs of the body can be glued to the inner face, then the outer face folds up to cover the tabs. Should be fairly simple, yet sturdy

Test build was successful Family photo Widened the Simple Version of the Tudor Coach and marked for placement of the body pieces. So, we have a family of coaches for the Hoard. And the Fodor Coach to go with the Tudor Coaches EDIT -- Didn't mean to gum up the works. Only the simple coach is for the Hoard, the others can be found at cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/7709/coaches-carriages-steam

I've got a couple of different ideas, one of which is quick, and the other more time consuming. I'll have at least one of them by the end of the month, but lemme have a few more days before I settle on which direction I have time to go in.

OK, as promised, I put together a little something for this month's Forum Hoard, in this case some fantasy conversions of cariboucowboy 's Greys from a preious Hoard. These are either goblins or elves, I haven't quite decided yet.

Those are great ... Gollum ... Green aliens with medieval weaponry. Definitely fits the theme I have a very deep rabbit hole about the connection between aliens and faeries... If those are looking green, I am going to need to make a color adjustment, they should be sort of a dark yellow o.0

Depending on your mythology of choice, they could be both. A large portion of European tales clarify goblins as a type of fae folk. Plus, Tolkien's orcs/gobbos were elves that had been deliberately twisted. Also, I have to say that I love the mileage you've been getting out of these guys. Goblins and star fleet personnel were definitely not something I saw coming when we were making them. But then, that's part of the fun of kitbashing and modding, no?

I really liked your greys the first time I saw them, and had originally printed off a few as aggressors for my Star Trek games. But the more I looked at them, the more ideas I had... The faerie-goblin versions are highly influenced by Brian Froud. I also properly attributed CaribouCowboy on the stands now, and have replaced the earlier images to reflect this. At the same time I noticed I had a scaling issue which I also resolved.

They could also be just aliens on a primitive cultural level, to be found on some distant planet by humans steering the UFOs...

I can work with that. Can and will, actually. Mission report: Out of Time. Greg was getting restless. He nervously adjusted his re-breather pack for the fifth time in as many minutes
ECOM Operations Command had insisted on the crucial nature of the mission. Most of the Outsider's ships stayed in orbit, or at least in system. Only the ships designated as “Harvester Class” seemed to make regular trips out of system, and Command come to the conclusion that finding out where they were going was crucial to destabilizing the Outsider's efforts on Earth.
Of course, Command weren't stuck hiding in the bowels of an Outsider transport ship warping to another solar system. Or shoot, thought Greg, maybe even another galaxy! At least if he was going on a suicide mission for a bunch of pansy paper-pushers, it was with his team. They'd been through some rough spots in the war so far, and if anyone could pull off this Hail Mary, it was them.
Command had provided the newest hacking protocols from their UFO research to Alice, which should allow them to pilot a scout craft home after getting the needed intel. *Should* being the operative word in this case. Their mission prep had included a few quick UFO-jackings to see how well Alice could work with the programs, but for all Greg and his team knew they could be halfway across the galaxy right now. Interstellar travel and UFO joyrides didn't exactly seem to be on the same level...
Greg started toying with his re-breather again just as Buck slid through the door to the storage area they had set up in.
“Sit-rep?”, Greg mouthed quietly.
“Time to move,” Buck said loudly, clearly less concerned with concealing their position than with speed. “Harvesters aren't just for grabbing experiments on Earth, apparently. They also use them for transporting reinforcements.” Buck suddenly turned to face the door, letting loose a volley of well-placed shotgun blasts at the center of the figure trying to make its way into the room.
Pistol in one hand, Alice moved to look at the body while covering the hall beyond the doorway. “What is this thing?”, she questioned. “It's almost like the Greys we normally fight, but... different. Primitive.”
“They're the new blood,” replied Buck. “They seemed to worship the Greys, and lined up in droves to get on the ship. I tried to get a closer scan, but there were too many and they started filling up the ship, fast. Maybe we can circle around past the cargo hold on the way to the docking chamber to get a closer look?”
Greg adjusted his re-breather one last time before buckling the helmet on his TKN-class exosuit. “No. Mission objective has been achieved,” his voice came over their suit comms. “We now know what the Outsiders are doing when they leave system. If there's a new army being loaded on these ships, we have to get that info back to command to warn them. We'll get to the dock and grab a scout to exfill before...” he trailed off, slowly shouldering his rocket launcher.
Three more of the new outsiders, skin a sickly green shade, were standing at the end of the hallway looking towards their newly-deceased kinsman. Clearly the clamor of loading hadn't been enough to mask Buck's earlier gunshots.
“Weapons hot. Run-and-gun to the docks,” Greg intoned. “Looks like we're Out of Time.”
