Incoming (?) RPG Heroes: - Sci-Fi Mercenaries (or Post-Apo/Mutant Marines?) - Indian Chieftain (Wild West Stories sub-series?) Well, while Sci-Fi minis are mostly done/finished and should be released soon, I'm still not sure regarding Indian/Wild West (although I like this theme very, very much!) - any interest? meaning is it worth the effort?

...I'm still not sure regarding Indian/Wild West (although I like this theme very, very much!) - any interest? meaning is it worth the effort? I love the western genre, all the way from Stagecoach and High Noon, right through The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, up to Silverado, Unforgiven, and both versions of True Grit. I am especially fond of Western-Sci-Fi mash-ups, like Wild Wild West (recent film and original TV show). I may be the only person on the planet who actually enjoyed Cowboys and Aliens, and I knew The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. was about thirty years ahead of it's time. And in case no one was paying attention, every Mad Max movie is a western, just with funny costumes and accents. And do you remember Earth II? A vastly under-appreciated Wagon-Train-in-Space, which made me a life-long Clancy Brown fan. (I'm a bit behind these days...I haven't seen a movie in the theatre in ten years that didn't involve either talking animals or light sabers...so I still need to see Django Unchained and Magnificent Seven, for example.) And of course, Firefly/Serenity, peace be upon it. I've bought a lot of Western minis, though I don't have a western campaign in my predictable future. So you can count on one sale, if three bucks is enough to inspire you to action. If you do publish a Western set, may I make a request? Please include a Guy on a Buffalo.

I would like very much another Wild West "RPG Heroes" set. But I also dream about "all" your western paper figures ( Indians, Cowboys, Trappers ... and all specials ... all ) as 32 mm. paper minis. ... then ... if the cavalry arrived ... the dream would be complete.

jeffgeorge: I loved Cowboys And Aliens mesper: I like Western stuff, but have more use for your existing Indian 3D terrain set than standees.

... then ... if the cavalry arrived ... the dream would be complete. Good point...cowboys and indians are pretty well covered with existing sets. Western archetypes I haven't seen yet include cavalry, mountain men/trappers, priests, cowboys of color (there were a lot more black and Hispanic cowboys on the range than Hollywood has traditionally shown us), railroad engineers and conductors, and Mexican nationals, to name a few. City folk (mayors, mine-owners, assayers, telegraph operators, etc.) can be easily covered using available Victorian/steam punk sets, although some straight-up steam punk cowboys might be nice. And I don't recall ever seeing Civil War soldiers and officers being covered in 28-32mm minis, although cavalry minis would cover Union soldiers well enough. But former Confederate officers turned outlaw is a classic Western villain trope. If wishes were fishes...or whatever that quote is...

There are many vintage paper soldiers out there, some with backs even. It's not hard to re-scale in Gimp and sharpen the colors. I was having 'vintage' urges the other day and even saw a civil war encampment, but I didn't save the site

There are many vintage paper soldiers out there, some with backs even ...Are there any helps, please? 2 - ... It's not hard to re-scale in Gimp and sharpen the colors ...It's not hard for you. Sadly I and any technology we are at war ever since. And I lose every time. ( ) 3 - ... and even saw a civil war encampment, but I didn't save the site ...Too bad. I know of only one civil war military camp but it ( though you can find it in PDF, jpg ... ) is still a copyrighted product.

I wouldn't call it Werid Warriors. I would put it more alternative universe where bushido and Japanese feudalism didn't not end, but just modified itself to be one with the times of "now".

Well whisper31 and Rhannon I agree but then set must have a title... So what, "Weird Samurais" - sounds... weird and something like "Weird Japan" even worse and probably unacceptable for many reasons;) IMO Weird Warriors has quite universal and broad, capacious meaning - which allows me to add more "weird" soldiers from various historical epoch/times/locations (like Romans, barbarians with firearms, perhaps knights mounted on bikes etc...)

I would prefer more a bit generic "sci-fi samurai warriors" ( or "sci-fi samurai army" ). "Weird" is too fantasy (or steampunk) for me. But this is just a personal preference.

How about "Alternative Historicals"? That's tempting! Hmm... would " Alternate History", as simpler and shorter, be OK? (and of course with some serial number prefix, like #1 or #2 if needed) EDIT: or perhaps "Weird History" ?I would prefer more a bit generic "sci-fi samurai warriors" ( or "sci-fi samurai army" ). "Weird" is too fantasy (or steampunk) for me. But this is just a personal preference. Sounds OK but, as mentioned, there will be more characters, from various historical settings, not only samurais. Here's some preview of what might be expected (oh, the Japanese Tori Gate in background is just incidental placeholder;) BTW #1 You can see here *real* back side of kneeling samurai "bazooka shooter" - that's the major difference between such minis as posted here at CWF and minis made from downloaded pics from web (vide PDFs vs. Physical Miniatures...) BTW #2 you may recognise some of these figurines - their predecessors were published some time ago here at CWF as freebies and even in some Hoard as far as I remember. But the new ones will be modifications (various/different weapons, accessories, colours) - hope that's not against some internal rules here?
