The theme for this month's HOARD is Papercuts 2017 This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of August, 2017. Actually, this isn't a typical hoard. Since most of us will be doing projects for Papercuts, doing a separate hoard would be too much. So, let your imaginations soar, and let's make Papercuts 2017, the best one ever

Very much looking forward to everyone's projects for the year.
Two questions:
1. Do entries have to be brand-new, never-before-seen projects, or is it permissible to submit minis or models that have been posted to the CW forum since the last Papercuts contest?
2. If I submit some form of the Dungeons of Olde tileset, does it get entered as a model ("3D terrain...multi-piece kit") or as a tile set ("flat, two-dimensional maps..."). The DoO set is 2.5D--so do I round up, or down? My instinct is to enter it in the tile set category, but it's technically not flat...
Also, I assume that a separate Sub-Board will be coming for the 2017 Papercut awards, with threads for each category, as in years past?

Hmmm, I believe we decided that projects for the year can be included, but I'm not sure if that year started January 1, or back on September 1. Good question.
My opinion is that DoO would be tileset, well, because its intended use is as a tileset.
Yes, there will be Sub-Boards

Short answers; -Sub Boards will be up August 1st, you can start a development thread now if you haven't already. -You can post as many pictures as you like, BUT make certain that one is a good presentation photo as it is the one that will be used for voting. -Mini-artist Design entries are not required to submit a photo. The submission itself will count for this. -Model Designs DO have to submit a photo of the completed model. -Tilesets do not need a photo, they can be submitted just like miniature designs. -All Design entries must be individual original work and accompanied by a free download. -Build entries (Kit-bash, Papercraft in Action) require a photo (minimum of 1) and do not need an accompanying download. -Anything that you have EVER built or designed is eligible for the Papercuts Showcase, so long as it has never been in a previous Papercuts Showcase. -This includes commercial work. The Showcase will run from August 1st to the morning of September 1st. No entries will be accepted after 8am Alaska time September 1st. The categories are; 1) Single Figure (Design) 2) Multi Figure (Design) 3) Model (Design) 4) Tileset (Design) 5) Kit-Bash (Build) 6) Papercraft in Action (Build) jeffgeorge - I would actually consider the Dungeons of Olde set to be in the Model (Design) category as it does have dimensional qualities and is not strictly a tileset.
