The Papercuts 2017 Showcase is coming! Here are some short answers to how it will work this year;
-Sub Boards will be up at the Cardboard warriors Forum August 1st, you can start a development thread now if you haven't already.
-You can post as many pictures as you like, BUT make certain that one is a good presentation photo as it is the one that will be used for voting. -Mini-artist Design entries are not required to submit a photo. The submission itself will count for this. -Model Designs DO have to submit a photo of the completed model. -Tilesets do not need a photo, they can be submitted just like miniature designs.
-All Design entries must be individual original work and accompanied by a free download.
-Build entries (Kit-bash, Papercraft in Action) require a photo (minimum of 1) and do not need an accompanying download.
-Anything that you have EVER built or designed is eligible for the Papercuts Showcase, so long as it has never been in a previous Papercuts Showcase. -This includes commercial work.
The Showcase will run from August 1st to the morning of September 1st. No entries will be accepted after 8am Alaska time September 1st.
The categories are; 1) Single Figure (Design) 2) Multi Figure (Design) 3) Model (Design) 4) Tileset (Design) 5) Kit-Bash (Build) 6) Papercraft in Action (Build)

Some details to old questions;
"I own a miniature and model design company, I want to submit design works that the artists I employ have crafted on behalf of the company. Can I do that?" - No, the original artist needs to enter and be celebrated. For instance; I (Mayhem in Paper) am the license owner of the entire One Monk Miniature line of products, which was crafted by James Hartman. I cannot enter anything from those lines in this Showcase and put my name on it as Designer. That is for James Hartman to do.
"I modified somebody else's model/miniature artwork, can I enter it as a Design?" - No, that would qualify as a Kit-Bash entry. The Design categories are for original work only. I could modify some of the One Monk designs that I own but were crafted by James Hartman and enter them into the Kit-Bash category.
"Can I enter the same piece into multiple categories?" - No and Yes. You can only make one original submission per Design category, but you could showcase a piece you entered as a Design in one of the Build categories.

You can only make one original submission per Design category, but you could showcase a piece you entered as a Design in one of the Build categories. I think that my Ashbrook-Stein project could be a good example of many of these questions. With permission of Christopher Roe, I can use his Habdome as a portion of the design. I also used his entry piece to design the dormers, and his chimney bases, but my chimneys, and the round window dormers of his creation, modified. I also have Chris's permission to post my files for this, but I can't post the Dodecagon House in Designs. I plan on designing my own airship mast for a kitbash of Tommygun's zeppelin and Squirmydad's airship. I am also doing my own steam carriage. All set on someone else's tiles with trees and bushes from multiple sources. So, it goes in the Kit-Bash Category. The original steam carriage will be eligible for the Design Category. It basically comes down to assigning proper credit. I hope my explanation of how that project has to be gives a little clarification
