As part of my daily hobby warm-up, I converted and painted Nurgaci. He is one of the "contacts" for my Japanese group in my solo FiveCore campaign. My next game involves the group escorting someone, and for the narrative I decided to use a contact as an escort-ee. I chose to make him an NCO from the Manchukuo Imperial Army to fill the role of "soldier from a rival unit." In the scenario, he can defend himself in melee but not shoot, so he has a holstered pistol and drawn sword (straight, not curved like a Japanese sword.) The body is a Warlord Japanese soldier, with a head from a Wargames Factory Soviet soldier. The hat is a little anachronistic as they had been replaced in the early 40s and thus us the newer uniform, but it serves to distinguish him further from the Japanese forces.
