Here is a pic of my painting project for today. It is a unit for my Undead Giant army for Dragon Rampant. And a 28mm WWII Soviet soldier for size comparison. Not bad for a 99 cent bag of Halloween toys When I first bought a couple of bags of these guys (and a bag of zombies, and a bag of bats) I immediately sat down to make a Giant Necromancer, here is that converted model (and a 28mm Irishman for size comparison:) I really need a better picture of the Necromancer...

That's a lot! Let's wait until Halloween again, see if they come back to stores for cheap.

We have a lot of discount stores in the U.S. Many folks look down at those who shop there. They only offer cheap junk in their eyes.
But, if you go to these stores looking for opportunities, you can often find many hidden gems. They just need a little work to bring them up to a great standard.
I often go there to get trees. They are usually around at Christmas, and have horrible fake snow on them. But if you can get the snow off them, they look good. They will sometimes have aquarium decorations. The little cliffs and plants can easily be turned into terrain.
And the toys, even though they are not of a 'quality' plastic, offer a lot of inspiration ... and cheap sets of wheels
Also a great source for foam core

I really need a better picture of the Necromancer... Not as bad as that Irishman needs a pair of pants. Or a kilt. Or something. #toomuchinformation!
