Outstanding! Don't freak out, but I will be formatting it over/under on the Hoard file.
Thank you

Not a problem. I find that working side-by-side when making figures or doing backs is easier for me than over-under. I think it is all in what you get used to

Here they are. The back of the second one is not very satisfying which shows how important it is to think about the back when you are first designing the figure. Movie poster artists from the previous century should take note.

I just love Bedford's shotgun while in his helmet for airless exploration. And he's going to fire it how exactly?! And Antohammer - loving your take on the Moon explorers!

I hate to do this... again, but I won't be able to finish the Lunar Hopper within the time frame of this hoard. I have printed the three modules, but I found no time to build them and take pics for the instructions. I'm sorry to let you all down, but there's always December. If I continue with the hopper and the other modules, I might get the entire modular transport ready by the end of the year... Sorry again, but no hopper for this hoard...

I understand, though. This is going to be a fantastic project, so don't rush

There is no sign of glass in any of the helmet openings in the movie so...? Actually there is, as they make quite a play of having to hold the metal helmets together if they need to speak to one another. In those shots, the glass is clearly present over the faceplates. Not so sure about the sides over the ears, but hey, the lack of gloves would be the - literal - killer, if for real of course

I stand corrected. I should have said " I see no evidence of glass in the screenshots from the movie." (I have not seen the film.) It looks to me that the helmets have no glass. If they are meant to, I assume that they had so much problem with glare from the lights and fogging up from breath that they removed in scenes where it was not critical. We often end up "soaping" or otherwise dulling down mirrors and windows on stage so that the audience isn't distracted by reflections of the lights, or themselves!
Edit: If I was a chiropractor or into rolfing; "Stand Corrected" would be my corporate name.

One small step for a paper model, one giant step for paper modellers. It's Forum Hoard #170, To The Moon! onemonk.com/fh-2018.html

When the Sesame Street moon thing came up, I thought about adding some 2d 'features', and here are some more. My wheels were also turning on doing a lander in a fairly easy fashion for next year, with a background. I find it interesting that legal01's 1/48 version of the one at Lower Hudson Valley, seems much more involved than the original. No doubt building to a much better model. I was hoping to come up with one similar to the Weetabix or Canon kids' version. Still playing with it

A quick bump for this at the very minute Apollo 8 lifted off fifty years ago, bearing the first humans ever to leave the orbit of their own planet. Plenty of news stories today on this, such as here, and this short video montage from NASA Goddard, plus the official NASA pages covering the voyage's anniversary running this week, beginning here. Of course, I'm sure one or two others of us here still remember it as it happened too...

I keep finding inspiration for the next one Look how those legs look like a paper model, not a render. An elegant way to handle them
