I look at these figures ... and I always think of Muad'Dib's Fremen ... Ok ... I know that they are very different. Very. ( red eyes for kenos and deep blue eyes for freemen, military uniforms for kenos and water recycling suits for fremen...)
But every time I look Keno's Imperial Guard they remind me the fremen. :-D

But every time I look Keno's Imperial Guard they remind me the fremen. :-D Rhannon, you absolutly right! Freemen were prototype of kenoese people. I only change eye color and reasons. Their eyes red (just red, not luminous) because they has a psyonic powers. But this power "sleeps" in general, therefore, only 0.1% becomes real psionics. It very hard way, and after some transormations, psyonics no more humans in a sense. But it was the Freemen who inspired the idea of the people of the empire Keno. If you dig deeper, each side and each specific unit has its own prototype. I already do not remember what exactly inspired me, but here are some: 1. Androids - their prototype was synthetics from Aliens vs Predator 2 video game. They are even visually similar. At first, I also imagined them as machines, but Timofey decided that let them be genetically modified clones 2. Imperial Fanatics - their prototype was north korean "Flag Unit" soldiers from "38 parallel" film))) But Guardmen not communists (In Continent nobody knows about communism, capitalism and another things from our world), they are real emperor's fanatics, brave and crazy 3. Alanian infantry - atreidis infantry from movie (regulars), and various modern european airborn units (paratroopers and Hutsmans) 4. Otloks - prototype of "Otlok regulars" is ww2 japan infantry, "shock infantry" - ww1 deutsch assault troops, Otlok Lizards - Reptile from Mortal Kombat 5. Kordas - mix of Caucasian and Syberian brutal guys 6. Gauladas - mix of Tatar Mongols and Mad Max 7. Baarths - absolutly 100% freemen 8. Prototype of Continent - Eastern Syberia

For me prototypes are a bit different. It was a bad luck of me. The "Dune", I read in Russian, was a gorgeous published book with even pages not white, but of a colour of sand, good illustrated, but in terrible translation, and zero work of editor. So I wasn't impressed at all. 1. Kenoese and Otlok infantry -- a bunch of post-apocalyptic nations from Soviet science-fiction books. Longcoats, grey jackets, woolhats and helmets. Ordinary and strong people of hard times. 2. Kenoese Guard -- Persian Guardians of Islamic Revolution Corps (at least visually). 3. Lianrians -- European armies of 1980-90s, not the real ones, but how they seemed from the Eastern side of the Iron Curtain. 4. Kordas -- mix of Caucasians and Dothraki. 5. Gauladas -- Mad Max and Water-World-type movies characters. 6. Baarth -- American Indians in their idealized form (like in Karl May books). 7. Alana army -- Red Army and ReichsVehr uniforms of 1920-s, I love their aestethics. Territories. Unlike Dima (he comes from the lands of Volga), I have been to Siberia (not Eastern, but South-Western part of it), I used to spend every summer there, when I was a child. And I spend my early years in the Siberian village, where local wisard treated me, when I was ill (there was no medical care 120km around). So, Keno is too vast to be like Eastern Siberia everywhere. Eastern Siberia -- are Alana and south of Lianra, and the most harsh territories of Keno and Baarth-Djat. Most of Lianra --are Norhern Urals, and lands of tundra (North Siberia and the most northern part of European Russia). The most populated territories of Keno are more like Central and Western Siberia in terms of climate: hard, but possible to survive on regular agriculture. Korda and Gaulada lands recalls Altay mountains in terms of climate, somwhere -- tundra, somwhere -- relatively warm grassland.
