I've been looking at updating my ageing HP 7500 EP910 ( print issues and feed issues occurring frequently lately) and am interested in the newer Brother Tank printers, their INKvestment series. the one I'm looking at is the MFC J6545DW.
It handles up to 11"x17" paper like my HP, plus the ink tanks sate up to 1500 pagers per cyan/magenta/yellow inks, and 3000 or 6000 pages for black.
The inks are compatible in price with the 920XL cartridges for my HP, with up to 5 times the prints.

No experience with that printer, but Brother printers have been my favorite for years. Every time I switch to something else, I regret it

Well, I did a head cleaning on my Epson, and still have some budget ink cartridges, so I'll be using it for the time being, but I am putting money on the side for the Brother MFC-J6545.
I looked into the Epson ink tank styles, but their ink prices aren't any less expensive going that route than using their cartridges. I actually read one review/cost comparison that showed using a comparable cartridge style Epson to a ink tank one with similar capabilities going the traditional route cost around $600 less because Epson pushed the process of the ink tank printers so high, and the ink costs are almost the same.
At least Brother has priced their INKvestment line of printers to a similar price point as their regular printers.
