I was thinking the other day how clever your promo pics are. I am sure many times people see a really slick project labeled DIY and they think "I don't have the skills for it to turn out that well." When people look at your photo's with the unfinished edges most of them think right away: "I see a simple way to make those look even better." I think it "empowers" your customers and helps them dive right in. Of course, PWYW should lower barriers too.  |

I suppose there is a bit of that to it, but my main aim is to show just how quick and easy it can be to get stuff on the table (as GMs/DMs usually have other stuff to prep for upcoming games, and terrain sometimes gets forgotten*).
Plus there's also the fact that I'm a bit lazy and more of a speed builder (and since I mostly GM away from home, it's good to be able to throw stuff in a box for the journey, and not worry too much about it ...as it only took a few minutes to make).
*obviously, if you only play 'theater of the mind' that's not an issue  |
