Last year when uptrainfan89 was posting his starships I got a hankering for some space battles as it's been a while. But I didn't want to print out star maps that used up all of my black ink just to create the background. In David Drake's RCN space opera series he describes a mode of star travel through sidereal dimensions where everything looks like a negative version of the primary reality; N-Space. I thought it'd be great to make starmaps that didn't use up all of my black ink...and then I totally forgot about these ideas until last week. I'm still working on making the 8x8 tiles, trying to find an easy way to export out of Photoshop that doesn't require me to crop and save and save 16 times. In the meantime here is the full size 32x32 map; Full maps8" square tiles

Easiest way to break it up is to use the slice tool, which will allow you to save all 16 smaller images in one go. It can be testy with high-res images though. You can also print to PDF and set the parameters to tile the image over multiple pages... that works pretty well, but you'll likely still have to do some clean up.
