Interesting that the Shadow Drake is up for voting. Doesn't it say photo in the rules? I mean, this is a builder category, isn't is?
I don't ask, because I'm in the contest, or because the Drake would be a bad mini/kit-bash. I ask, because I'm not sure, I understood the rules correctly.

It was a kitbash of other creator's minis.

It was a kitbash of other creator's minis. Yes, but in the rules and guidelines, it says: 6) Hot Rod and Kit-bashers - A papercraft diorama** scenic category, but with a personal twist. This category is to highlight how you improved, modified, or mangled someone’s work. There are many examples in this forum of users modifying a designers work. One picture minimum to show off your work, no download required.
(...)
** The emphasis of the diorama categories should be on how well you built your pieces and presented them.
(...)
Builder submissions will be in the form of photographs of your figures and models, no download required.
(...)
Photography is a factor due to the fact that if we can't see it well, it will affect the scoring. Modifying the presentation image for lighting and sharpness is acceptable, just don't add embellishments to the presentation picture that are not present in the finished model or miniature. As far as I see it, this means that basically every Papercuts entry, that is not a photo of a finished model or mini, does not apply to the rules (which includes my own Star Trek battlemap...). I'm totally fine with keeping all entries in the contest, but I just had to ask, whether me stupid old German did misunderstand something. Again, I'm totally fine with abandoning the initial rules, but I want to make sure that we are all on the same page with that...

Oh! Wait! That's not a photograph of a build! Good point shep! Looks like it slipped through old squirmydad's rush to get the votes up. It's up to him what to do, but at this point I propose we keep the voting in place, and just have him figure out what to do if it places. In the future, we probably should have a qualification/review phase long enough to make sure everything's in the right place.

Since it was a paper miniature kit-bash and not a model I let it slide through using the figure entry guidelines. A picture of an unbuilt model laid out on a page is difficult for many people to visualize which is why I require a build photo for models. An unbuilt paper mini is easy to discern.
I suppose I can officially tweak that for next year.

I just thought that I might had misunderstood something, since English is not my native language, and even though i think of me to be a fluent speaker, there are some finer details now and then that slip my knowledge and understanding.
