The theme for this month's HOARD is Hoard of the Procrastinators This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of December, 2019. Wait a minute ... starting this Hoard early? Brush off the old hard drive. Remember back to the days when there was this one project that just seemed to be stuck, and then you got sidetracked and knocked out a couple other things, but when you came back to this one, it didn't sparkle and shine like when the idea was new. Well, now's the time to clean and polish it up. Of course I have a couple projects I put off, just to be part of this Hoard, but (news flash) I'm a bit different Have fun, folks

I think, this year, since I want to finish it as a X-mas present for my regular RPG group, I will throw my modular tavern set into this hoard... The set consists of wall parts, floor tiles, and some furniture.

My real problem is figuring out which unfinished project to try and focus on.

I planned on the 57 Chevys being my submission, but I should try to finish the Citizens Security Bank. I've procrastinated enough on that one

Don't put off your projects too long...
I say this from personal experience. I had decided that at lunch today, I was going to work on the 57 Chevys. Having spent too much time recently on the Cybertruck, the Rialto bridge, the Container Compound and the San Marco columns, I have to redevelop how I wanted to do the taillights. Had I not been sidetracked, this would have been done ages ago.
I also went back last night to re-acquaint myself with where I was at on the Citizens Security Bank.
Don't put things off too long, or it is hard to get back in the swing of things

I fixed the geometry quirks in this, going back over the texturing of the armor plates as I found them artistically disagreeable; My big dance show is done and I am mentally and physically recovering today. I am also looking at this (geometry finished, color schemes pending); I'm also looking at this, not sure if it'll make the cut, probably just push it into January to be a VSF/Electric Life addition to the Verne Horde; Today is the 15th? Plenty of time. I hope.

Floor tiles and a staircase still missing, the modular tavern set is coming along well. However, due to an editing job that needs to be finished till x-mas, I don't think I will get the set ready before the holidays. I think, though, that I'll have it finished till the end of the month...

I now have two ways to do 3d taillights and I don't consider either to be a success And that blasted PostImage won't complete. I'll post photos later Edit -- As you can see, my new bumpers are too dark, so I brightened and enhanced them. Part of the problem was that I had to lose the positioning tabs for attaching the back end. I have a new inner piece to take care of that. The taillights are too fiddly, as is, but as I was studying this latest build and reviewing past ideas that all met with frustration, I realized that if the trunk were separate, similar to the hood, I would have room to have the inner fender wrap over from the top of the outer fender, which I wanted to do even before the 3d taillights ideas. It should greatly simplify things and look better. I need to enhance the windshield wipers, as they don't show well. I have also slightly changed the hood piece to highlight the lower windshield trim. I am going to do the same for the trunk. I am also changing the tabs on the hood. As is, there is a slight bulge under the fender tops where the tabs underneath overlap. Should be an easy remedy, now that I have a plan. Yes, I am long-winded again, but I have to put my thoughts down since I won't be able to really do much except over lunch the next couple days

I assume hoard submissions go in their respective threads..? If not, forgive my ignorance! (and I didn't have any long-pending projects going currently, so I hope something Christmas-like will be acceptable!)

Sweet, happy and grateful to be included! I just woke up and had a chance to fiddle with adding tabs to the things I've posted thus far, so I'll re-post them in my WIP thread shortly! After that, I'll make some bases for em~

Modular Tavern is done, testbuild and some instructions next... Smallest version will be four tiles, standard should go up to nine tiles, and there's basically no limit from there. However, this set does not include inner walls, courtains, etc. but I might add these later in a different hoard (or in my folder)...
Would have added a pic, but PostImage does not want me to...

Question: How long will this hoard be kept open?
I don't know, if I will find the time to print the tavern tomorrow, and after the holidays, I'll have to prep for next Sunday, when I'll turn 45. So, printing will most probably have to wait till either the 30th or next year...

I'm not really sure if I will need more time to finish anything by the first, so I think I can put off closing the Hoard for a few days after the fact

I'll be building a few Battle cars after Christmas, and then hopefully I can get the Hetzager finished.

Well, I got sidetracked.
I was surprised to get a Christmas card from the UK. Philip from papermodelers.com sent me a postcard model of the Puerta de Alcala. I immediately scanned, enlarged and enhanced it and started work on it last night

I didn't think I had time to do anything for this hoard, but D&D was cancelled last night so I stayed up 'til 4 working on an idea. I assembled this afternoon and it needs revision. I don't know if I will get back to it soon or, since it is Christmas themed, I should shelve it and do the Albatross as I threatened to two years ago. cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/8683/albatross-flying-machine

Hey, we need more procrastinators for this Hoard. Hurry up and procrastinate a little faster.
Okay, that was lame.
Albatross would be wonderful for January. And Christmas is fine for this Hoard, as is Halloween, Bastille Day, Arbor Day, whatever

Okay, my latest test build is printed, scored and partially cut out. Yeah, I got sidetracked ... AGAIN. If I get things cut out and edged tonight, I should be able to get the test build done tomorrow night. It will be successful, or it won't. I'll take lots of photos to do a build walk-through.
I will close this out Tuesday night (Orthodox Christmas).
Wish me luck
