From the Ganesha Games Song of Blades yahoo group;
I can officially announce that Ganesha Games, Papermakeit! and OneMonkMiniatures are working on a print-and-play solo boardgame set in the mad world of Mutants and Death Ray Guns. Papermakeit is working on the six floorplans, OneMonk on the paper miniatures that come with the game, and Ganesha is writing the rules.
We still have no definitive title for this baby.. we call it "Mutant Hour" for the moment... it's a solo scenario to be played in one hour. Your hero, the sole survivor of a Purity Squad, has exactly 60 minutes (of real time- yes, you play with a watch) to enter the six-level mutant hideout and kill the mutant leader before he unleashes a mutebomb upon the city.
Rules are based on MDRG but at the same time there are enough differences to make it its own game. It's simpler and faster, non-stop action, beat-the-clock first person shoot'em up boardgame.
Ideally, this will go on sale on Christmas if the Stars are Right... Andrea
Can I get a woot! ;D ;D

Sounds like a great combination of strengths. The fact that its solo-play has me very intrigued. I look forward to purchasing and playing.
Good luck one and all.

Wow! This sounds awesome! I can't wait!!!
Can any one recommend any other solo boardgames/RPGs? I really enjoyed Steve Jackson's "Sorcery" series of books as a kid and I'd love to get back into this style of game!

Pretty much every game from 2HourWargames can be played solo. Most of the games ( All Things Zombie, Warrior Heroes, Friday Night Fights) have campaign rules, which you can play solo, and advance your charecters as well. 2HrWargames also offers Chain Reaction 3.0 for free. Chain Reaction is the core gaming system most of their games is based on. It's fully playable as is, and has free supplements. I own 2HrWargames' All Things Zombie, Warrior Heroes, Colonial Adventrues, and Dead Heat. All of them can be played solo, but Dead Heat is a Zombie Racing game so it's not all that much fun racing against yourself Next week [ur=http://wp.me/prVwZ-3al]ALL THINGS HORROR [/url]will come out. Think "your in the agaency" like the company in the HEROES TV series, but your dealing with creatures like on the SUPERNATURAL TV series.

Slightly more work done. I am really rusty from not drawing for over 6 WEEKS! I really must try to draw at least an hour a day to stay loose. Anyway, I have a revised Gorilla, that looks much better, and I'll be revising all the other designs as well. Also shown is the original crappy thumbnails, to show yet again, ideas don't go down on paper perfectly the first time. I draw small so I can get a good pose and balance of body parts, then scan/scale the thumb up and trace it better. I keep doing this, 5 times in the case of the gorilla in order to get it right. It's OK top draw like crap, I do all the time. It's taking the time to develop those bad thumbs into cool final drawings. You can see the new gorilla design started as that tiny little pose study, I just scaled it up to trace the final figure...

I think the torso should be more like 3/4 view in order to match the right arm of that gorilla. Of course he is sketchy so you might have done it different anyway. I think he is looking good otherwise. And keep doodling, no need to make drawing so serious, keep it fun!

I have finished all the proposed sketches for the figures. They are off to Andrea for comment and suggestions. I will be tweaking these a couple more times at least to clean up the designs and add more details. I plan to work at least a hour or two a night until these are finished.

Looks cool. Only one hero, or a choice of hero figures to choose from?

Looks cool. Only one hero, or a choice of hero figures to choose from? Dryw the Harper I've heard that it'll be kind of like the old GW game "Chainsaw Warrior" where you try to keep your hero alive while exploring an infested ancient facility. The "Hour" part of the title is because the player only has one hour of real-time to complete the mission. Apparently there are special rules for potty breaks. I'm somewhat excited and intrigued by this game so I've been following its development as close as possible.

Real men go in their pants, like proffessional gamblers do !!
No time for potty breaks when there are mutants and bombs only minutes aways.

Those two guys look like they'd go well in a Pulp game too. Explorers trapped by albino gorillas in the Avacado Temple of Doom.

I've just bought 3 books from Andrea, and i think i'll go for this also. About the Gorilla, i throw here some impression: 1) Pectorals and belly "parts" seems a bit "mounted over" the fur. I think that the right part of the fur (under the raised arm) should look over them. But i can't catch how to do that, and why i have this "feeling".... it is just something that looks a bit weird, to me 2) Right foot: i think that if you "extrude" the thumb it will gain more "ape" look.
Other than this, i really admire your talent.

I tried fooling around to make the gorilla look better, but couldn't after messing around for a couple hours, so am sticking with it as is. Anyway, the figures are finished and the final layouts are being assembled. Here is a preview of all the figures. Some figures are provided in multiples, and are laid out on a full sheet of a single figure type. A lot of figures are needed for the game, so I have provided a simpler cutting method for these figures with a smooth outline that can be trimmed with scissors, and should make building the game MUCH faster.

Excellent stuff Jim!
The shambling Zombie with the gun rawwwks! That giant multi-limbed insectoid and whole second row are great!
Looking forward to actually getting the game. I hope it is as good as the figures included.
