These wont be to everyone's taste and they definitely don't fit in with Onemonks mini's but I've made them as stand alone to play song of fur and buttons with I haven't finished all the faction types yet but I have broken the back of the designs and have them all sketched up just need to finish digitizing them. Anyways a small cross section : Colonial Bears Lady Fluffyfur is my own addition so there was a female heroine. Dinosaurs - these were a pain in the butt and took 3x longer than the above to draw and colour. Frog (based on aussie green tree frog)- this is just the base I need to do variants yet. I've still got the turtles to digitize yet and a few misc things (honeypots, elementals, dino eggs), once there done I just have the Pirate bears, picnic bears and native bears. Sounds like a lot but as they are all based on the above bear image in different clothes/weapons i should finish them up fairly quickly Hopefully I'll have them all finished up by mid next week...possibly earlier. ;D

They are great!, I like them. It´s a big style change but they have a very good design. They make me remind Connan Doyle´s character from The Lost World that i read when i was a child (<-- I don´t remember the past tense of read ). Good work Sirob! (Like always)

I think many people will like these, especially as many people in these forums that play the Song of gamaes.

(Like always) You've got it right, the past tense of read (pronounced reed) is read! (pronounced red). Who said the english language wasn't simple I love them, if you're six then they are cute, if you're thirty six then they're ironic The eyes are great, you'd feel bad shooting them.

Yeah these are ace. I'd been hoping to eventually get some of the eureka bears to lay it with my daughter but these are even better!!
I'm assuming you're doing rank and file as well? And backs?
definitely one to keep an eye on. I love the way you've done the dinosaurs in the 'cute' style too. Oh do the frogs get a canon?
Don't forget the cowboy bears!!!

Thanks for all the positive comments . Yep backs are done, and I'm planning on doing a froggy canon. Basically I want to play through the scenarios as well, so I've sketched up whats needed to complete upto sc11...sc12 seems like a little bit of the odd one out I suspect the start of fur & buttons 2. I'll end up completing the cowboy bears after I've finished up whats needed to finish to sc11. Anyways Frogs and turtles to finish off

The turtles are nearly finished, One Commander and War Anklyosaur to go.

War Anky is taking sometime to complete, it was one of the few I had no sketch for so I've been going from scratch (quiet a few re-draws). He's all digitized and greyed in now: ready for colouring and scaling, Then I'll do a ridered version for the turtles and a riderless version for the dinosaurs. Mostly posting this to keep me focused

Colorings done on the Anky but I'm unsure of were to scale it to. I'm pretty sure actual Anky scale would be way to much and better suited to a 2.5D mini. below is the current size a bit bigger than a Horse/Toad and Bigger than a Monsterous Turtle, but well below scale size for an ankylosaurus. Below picy has him scaled against a regular turtle: Looking for some thoughts on this, Bigger, Smaller or just about right? I'll go finish the turtle rider as I need it either way

For this game that dino looks just right for scale.

These look simply amazing... and my kids are asking every hour... "Are they here yet?"
Perfect opportunity to exercise self control and patience, I say.
Looking forward to these very much!

have to agree that these are shaping up to a must have collection, simply awesome Sirrob.
That ankylosaur looks about right if riden like cavalry. I sort of imagined a howdah since it carries the rules 'huge' and 'shooter', but thats just me. The actual figyre range doesn't help since Eureka don't seem to have one listed on their site!!
My 6 year old daughter is also asking if they are finished yet, she really likes the frogs!!!!

Thanks all for the size confirmation, I've been using the designers page for reference, here's a picy of the anky: I feel the heavy burden of childrens exceptions being placed on my shoulders...no pressure...gulp

Turtles are all wrapped up, at this point there is only one anky pose, 2 musicians, 2 snipers and 2 Monsters. I might add a second Ank pose if I can fit two on a page. I'll work on the native bears next. Once those are done I'll finalize up whats here and get test cuts etc done and upload the PDF's. Then I'll fill in the pirate bears and picnic bears. edit just noticed the commanders missing his spy glass...missed it on export ...

I've based the native bears on koala's..yes not true bears but close enough and fits in with the Green tree frogs, First One's all digitized and now I just need to do the variants, he's mostly based on the bear above: I'll probably throw a few extra troop types in not listed in Fur and Buttons.

Fortunately my daughter isn't around to see this!!!
These really are ace Sirrob!!! I love the idea of the natives being koalas. It suits their 'forester' abilities Does this mean we'll see some with boomerangs?

I know this won't be high on your to-do list anytime soon (or at all)... but I told my daughter I'd ask for her... So here it goes... Could you possibly make a set of pink frogs, turtles, and koalas? onemonkeybeau

my daughter say's that she doesn't mind what colour they are, but are they ready yet?

|
|
Post by Sirrob01 on Sept 9, 2010 14:40:11 GMT -9
onemonkeybeau - Pink should be fairly easy, I've been very careful with this set to use only duplicate in inkscape so all the parts use the one colour gradient. I'll get the main set all done then look at pinkifying them . magpiestear - I'm finding sleeping is slowing me down a little . Boomerangs will be making an appearance, good guess edit: I'm doing a triplicate backup process at the moment so no fear of losing all the work...at worst 1-2 hours
