Hello, Schmake6874 here - pronounced "shh-make" but you can call me Andy - I play a lot of RPG - Savage Worlds mostly and have been trying to find alternate terrain for games. I stumbled across paper craft while visiting World Works Games website and bought alot before and after they got their site back up. I have been trying to get western style in place for a deadlands game and experimaenting with a lot of others out there.
I look forward to discussions on this forum!

I try to help folks narrow their searches. There is so much treasure to be mined from these forums, but sometimes it can seem unmanageable, unless you get a little lucky with your search terms. Also, check out the Hoards. You should be able to find some great stuff there, too And, of course, Mauther's blog, papermau.blogspot.com/search?q=west

I just managed to find ucmviewer5 online, but it installed without help files or anything else... oh well... there are many ways to work around my little problem (Windows Snipping tool and MSPaint are the go to solution)

Hey, I joined this forum long ago but never really used it. Now with the apparent demise of the WWG forum, I'm casting about to see where everyone landed. Steve

Well, Steve, I hope you will find a home here. I hope you've had a chance to look through the forums and find some nifty treasures.
What games do you play?

Thanks for the welcome, Vermin. I finished up a long-running RuneQuest campaign last year, and mostly running (and playing) Pathfinder right now, with a smattering of D20 StarWars. I'm contemplating starting a Fate game as a break. Steve

Hi all. My name is Pat and I'm a music teacher living in Springfield, Oregon. Just downloaded Dave Graffam's Budget building collection from drivethru and I can't wait to get to crafting. Been eyeballing his work forever and I'm finally committing to actually buying and building.
If there are any gamers in the Willamette Valley please drop me a line! It's very hard to find players in this neck of the woods!
Pat

I'm in Portland, and it's gamer-city up here! Any good game shops to lurk in Springfield/Eugene? I haven't spent much time in that neck of the woods. Also, welcome to the forum!

If there are any gamers in the Willamette Valley please drop me a line! It's very hard to find players in this neck of the woods! I'm in Portland, and it's gamer-city up here! Any good game shops to lurk in Springfield/Eugene? Yeah, there are a few, to be fair -- I regularly hang and paint minis in one [Evolution Games]. I built quite a bit of terrain for the store a couple of years back. The games are very selective . . . and none I'm really interested in. Some 40K, Flames of War, some Warmachine. No one was really playing WH Fantasy [the game for which I built ALL of the terrain!], and now I guess the rules have changed [again!] and no one seems to be playing that to my knowledge. That's pretty much all she wrote. RPG-wise it's very much a desert -- 5E or nothing for the most part. Some Pathfinder. I'm a huge Savage Words devotee and anytime I bring up a game everyone looks at their feet and shuffles uncomfortably :-). Let's not even talk about smaller, indie wargames or rpgs. I freakin' LOVE Song of Blades and Heroes and every time I try to bring it up I get nothing but blank expressions. I suppose I should just bring in the book and strong-arm someone into playing, but I just don't have the energy.
Now, if there's a Eugenian lurking about on this forum who wants to take me to task because I'm missing out on some awesome game at another store --- please let me know!! I'd love to be corrected!
Pat

Hello Pat and welcome to the forum! Frostgrave is a perfect fit for WHFB terrain and is easy to learn and cost effective. Perhaps the local gamers would like to try that system? Sometimes bringing pizza or similar goodies helps get participation in games that aren't mainstream, good luck!

Frostgrave is a perfect fit for WHFB terrain and is easy to learn and cost effective. Thanx for the warm welcome, all! I've never heard of Frostgrave, but I just snuck a peak on their website. I really like Osprey's games -- I own Fistful of Kung Fu, and In Her Majesty's Name. When some money floats my direction I might just pick it up. I'm not a huge fan of LOOK AT MY HUGE GIANT ARMY games, I much prefer skirmish games so this is right up my ally.
Thanx! Pat

I have some friends that dig Frostgrave. If you dig SoBH, it should be right up your alley I certainly dig warband-style skirmishes over masssive battles. It's a pity the peeps at your game shops don't play Savage Worlds, it's a good system. A friend of mine wrote the Savage Worlds Sixth Gun RPG book, I get lucky enough to roll dice with him sometimes.

Gyahh!! So . . . I just ordered Frostgrave off of Amazon . . . wow. Anyway, I just really liked the vibe right off the bat and I have a TON of terrain to play on. Just need to blow a couple of bucks on some Reaper Bones minis and I can have a warband up in no time. That is my personal record of progression from ignorance to knowledge to wanting to buying that I can think of in my own gaming lifetime [and that is a LONG time!]. So, ya happy now? :-)
I love Savage Worlds! Ever since it first came out I've had some serious love on for the system. I've spent way too much time working on campaigns and one-shots just for fun, knowing it's unlikely I will ever play them. My current scenario has been a demo/one-shot based on the horrible movies coming out on SYFY: "Cybersharkasaurus!" I took inspiration from Clint Black's "Arctigator versus Crocosharkasaurus" adventure. Whether or not it ever gets played is moot, I'm having fun designing the PCs, who are all played by familiar actors [including Danny Trejo, of course!]. I haven't been able to check out 6th Gun, but I've heard good things about it.
Now I gotta drive to Portland to pick up my wife at PDX!
Take care,
Pat

Frostgrave has a very interesting use of magic with lots of the risk/reward decision making that I like so much and the spells are influential but not overpowering. My only concern is that only the Wizard, Apprentice and Captain get upgrades, in Mordheim it was fun to see rank & file upgrade.
The nice thing about Osprey is they r\provide top quality hard copy and artwork.

Hi all,
It's been awhile. Everything looks great and I am so happy that Jim's Legacy has been growing with ever year.
I have shifted more to board games these days and with that a good load of FantasyFlight Games. However I don't have the time or skill any more to paint all the figures, which is what has brought me back here. I am looking for figures and monster which would suit the Arkham File games - Lovecraft goodness.
Again it's great to see this place once more.
