Having an identifiable style isn't a bad thing, but it is good to push your boundaries. The swirly bracers is something else I like about this fig. As to asymmetrical faces, everyone has one. A friend who was in the masters directing program with me showed me the trick of covering up half of a headshot (8x10 portrait that actors include with their resume when they audition) it is amazing what a different impression each side of the face makes.

You so get me CBL! Maybe that is why we have such good friends over the years. You are right. When I said I like to do figures that don't look like mine, I mean I am trying to improve my style, and do figures that are mine only "better." Cue the Six Million Dollar Man Theme.

Terrific work, and loads of figures I look forward too, kiladecus. And as I think I've said before, you should release a colouring book for DEADLY MISSIONS! I really love the B&W linework...

I inked another of my favorite characters tonight. Will post pics tomorrow. As promised... here is the picture I promised. This is AVALON. He is one of my FAVORITE characters ever created. His story (get it, "history"). In 1987, I came up with a character for my DC/MARVEL RPG (yes, I was bashing games as early as my teens), that was kind of like a omniscient villain-ish character. His name was "Sphinxo" (hey, I was a kid at the time). Since then, he was revisited in every RPG I ever played as the NPC/leader. Named, AVALON, he developed some cool abilities, and managed to not only be played in the Staw Wars RPG (as leader of the Teknet), but as the game evolved into "Dave Wars," and eventually "TechnoWars," he became even more powerful. His primary role was to give orders to the players, and deliver missions assignments. He would normally have to add the warning, NOT to blow up the bar... If the players were ever about to die, like Nick Fury, Avalon would bust through the wall with Teknet agents, and save the day. He once took out over 50 Stormtroopers by flying into the chamber and dropping fistfulls of thermal detonators into the room. He narrowly escaped as the station exploded from the inside out, and the players flew their ship out of the exploding hull. The players were sad because they knew that Avalon had given his life to save them, as he became a martyr. That is until he showed up to save them next time. It was because of him I came up with the line, "Old characters never die, they just become cybernetically enhanced." His best form was when he wore transformer armor, and carried his ninja staff. I scaled him down a little for DEADLY MISSIONS to allow him to fit into a fantasy setting, although he can STILL be used in the Sci-Fi setting, since that is where he really belongs. No matter where you use AVALON, be sure that he will kick a little butt, and look AWESOME doing it.

okumarts referred to him as an "epic combo of Aslan, Hawkman and Thor." I couldn't agree more! That REALLY captures the concept of the figure. Not only physically, but everything that AVALON is!

I am not one to toot my own horn, but I really think that this guy turned out pretty well. This is KYRACK. Can you name the three inspirations for him?

My first thought, when guessing the three influences was Bane from "Batman Rises," but considering my other two suspects I'm going to say Darths Maul and Vader and one of the sandpeople.
He looks good btw.

You all win! This was another character that I used when I ran my Star Wars games, that evolved into various other RPGs. When we played, we used action figures as our characters. I used a G.I.JOE figure as a Tusken Raider named Kyrack. He would spend most of the game off the board, because he was in an air vent or in the shadows. When we were in a hucklebuck, the enemies would disappear one at a time. I wanted to do something that showed he was a sand person, but wanted his Cobra figure to show through. I thought about Bane, and figured without the "bandages," he would have horns... when I thought of horns, I thought of Maul. The three elements combined made a great figure. What I really like is people know what it is. Thanks for the positive feedback.

Wow! Was I off! Too many horror movies and Star Trek. Wait! What am I saying? One can never have too much Star Trek! Maybe some Star Wars; though.

So, KYRACK and SIIAK came across this moisture farm. It was in pretty good shape, but they had to clean up the burnt carcasses of the former occupants. It was close to Toshi Station, and there was plenty of blue milk in the refrigerator. Ok, I obviously need more than 5 hours of sleep a night...

Love it! It should be a TV show BTW, where does the blue milk come from? I've seen it referenced before (in the name of a webcomic, Blue Milk Special IIRC), but for the Life Day of me, I can't find the original.

Beru and Owen Lars drank it in the first Star Wars movie when Luke was whining about wanting to go pick up power converters from Toshi station.

Tonight I laid out the first eight figures of the set. You may ask, "First eight? How many are there?" There are expected to be 12 heroes and four villains (plus some top-downs).
I am waiting on the map to get wrapped up, and once I get that, we will be close to getting this out.
I have to do the rules, tokes and cheater ( "reference card"), then I can get this out. It should be a pretty large release.
A complete system with everything you need to play right out of the box with no bundles (as in the past ). The best part is ALL of the first edition stuff is 100% compatible ! That is big news. We wouldn't make you buy stuff and then make it obsolete.
There are hundreds of characters and tens of hundreds creatures and foes !
Yes, this set will be big, and will be the definitive rule book for DM and will most likely include ALL rules in ALL genres, so if you have the rules, then you can play ANY of the rules settings.
More will be discussed about that on a day I didn't work ten hours at my "job."

Here is a sneak peek at the first page of figures. I have to check the alignment, and play test the rules. The numbers are the scale size of the figures. I tend to make my figures a little larger because you can really see the detail, and they still fit within the 25mm guidelines.

I was inspired by this character today. My wife said he looked like a prisoner that just escaped from a jail. She inspired his backstory. It is up to the heroes to return him to the prison. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Attachments:
