ah nice thanks Gilius, i see its not the first time this has been attempted.. I promise to do something a little different i uploaded some pics to another thread that shows all the components and a few test builds other than the designed: cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=dragnoz&action=display&thread=3839old squirmydad, yes the idea is to release all ships in this modular form and then you have a near infinite combination possibilities of all the various components... plus then release free and uber cheap accessories and booster packs.. here is a better picture of the model (taken in the daylight) this is all still a work and ideas in progress...

well... first starship kinna done.. below you can see the modular pieces for this particular set: 1x cargo bay 1x living area and bridge 1x observation post 1x covered walkway and extra container dock 1x maintenance pipes 1x back exhaust / engine 2x side mounted engines 2x exhaust intake / engines 4 x cargo containers The finished piece which can be used as a "suggestion" or "primary model" Showing the size Some more photos: I also tried building a few other versions using the modular pieces. this one was ok, not great.. and i kinna really love this one Now i just need to get it printed with a decent printer and build one for marketing purposes.. oh yes, the stand is actually included, except it is white, i spray painted it black after i built it. Not sure if people will like to waste their black ink on a stand.

some concepts of starships im working on with uptrainfan89 im not to sure about the correct scales of starship models and have tried to make them as small as possible without compromising on the difficulty level of the build. the plan is to have the whole thing modular and the model "blue prints" is a suggestion of what you can build using the components... You will be completely free to build your own designs using the components. These models will not be attached to any gaming system but can be used for any space based game. this particular model first dry run of a blank build is a freighter but i suspect it might be a bit to big. I dont know.. what do you guys think?

Wow there has been some serious work and money thrown into that...
Looks quite good, interesting that they are merging Jules Verne and Arthur Conan Arthur Conan Doyle...
Wonder what the scope of the story will be, it seems limited to a few characters.

Thanks im quite happy with it so far... at the moment the pictures are showing the weaponised version. The sides, top and front are mod-able with weapons, storage containers, troop transport platforms or any one of many variety of mods packs planned.

Thanks guys these are all really cool, they tend to become a bit more that heavy shock troopers... I have tried a number of times and going to put them on the backburners just for abit. I just cant get my head around them for some reason... a break from them might do the trick...
the problem im finding is that anatomically its almost impossible to do anything heavy without the person being a freak of nature... it just feels wrong... but eventually ill be back with an answer

I'm back after a bit of a break... well not that it was really a break as such, more of a real world invasion of stuff to do... I have a few more niggles to work out and some more prepping to do but the first of the spider crawlers is pretty much done... If you look at the above images (posts above) you will see the All Terrain Person Crawler used as a personel carrier, sniper platform etc etc. Below is the second part of the model that when placed ontop of the AT-PC turns it into a All Terrain Gun and Cannon crawler. I'ts designed to be kitbash friendly and ill be providing free weapon downloads from time to time that can be used on teh main weapon areas on the top dome (there is about 6 special areas) i'm a bit of a messy builder so excuse the white bits sticking out everywhere... This model is an intermediate build level... little bit tricky but not to much.

Its actually real easy, there is a add picture button in the WYSIWYG that allows you to insert an image via a URL. I use photobox to host the images and then just use the direct link to the image.
Yes thats the big problem here, and whats got me hitting a wall, they still need to be seen as part of the same set. I like the idea of a closed helmet / canopy but just not sure this is how the suit would have evolved.
Agreed, maybe something more like Squirmydads pic..

"The blood I spilt has washed away my cause, I fight now because I know nothing else, I do what I'm ordered, I kill whom I'm told, and at night I dream of flowers." Graffiti on an old baracks wall, long destroyed by the sons of Holmes. hehe ok a concept drawing that got a bit out of hand... not sure where the flower came from.. just felt like the right thing to put in... designing this is surprisingly difficult. This is still not quite heavy enough. LOL loving the expression on the woman's face... "This is not what i had in mind when he said he had to hammer me"

No i abandoned him in the end. I realised it was more than just the perspective, the pose just didnt "speak" to me. This is actually the hardest part for me, getting the pose right to reflect the movement and personality of the particular figure. The gif was the only real way i thought i can show the potential of the layers.

And here we go... Finally the Steam Rocket troopers have been released. Now you can add arial assaults, secret infiltrations, attacks behind enemy lines and all manner of long range blood thirsty deeds to your steampunk army! Use the following URL to get a special cardboard Warriors Forum only discount: rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?discount=88947&affiliate_id=372237Comments, reviews and ratings highly appreciated :-) "I never truly believed her, she was young and prone to flights of fantasy. It wasn't until I heard them, great gusts of air and steam droning in the distance, then i saw them, these flying men of Moriarty. We were not prepared for the arial attack.
They first dropped the bombs and then cut through our ranks with their swords and motorised saws. I watched in horror as the people I fought with was engulfed in flames from their infernal weapons. It was a horrific slaughter and we barely escaped with our lives. "
extract from the diary of Rose, Grant daughter of Holmes.Desktopwargames.com proudly present the arial combat figure set for its critically acclaimed "Gods of Steam" Steampunk army figures. You can now add speed and range to your attacks. Hundreds of of unique figures combinations possible. 6 Colours, 8 weapons, 6 figures + 6 inverse amounts to almost 350 unique combinations. Below is just some of the combinations for just one figure... there is 5 more to configure.

Yes shes a she i wanted to bring in a female character and i though the steam rockets is the perfect place. shes actually based on a tomb raider pose. Hmm.. it never actually occurred to me to have a non flying version DOH... ill do an update in a week or two to accommodate this request, it makes sense.

Fingers crossed tonight. Just need to do all the pics and marketing creatives...
LOL indeed... Slice them, dice them, roast them or just pump them full of lead... either way can be sure your enemies will be dead!

erm.. im the one that is speechless here.. thank you all so much for the encouraging words... it will definitely ensure I stick with the creation of these.
Do you guys mind if I quote you on some of these remarks?
ok logical next step seems to be heavy shock troopers (Heavy armored infantry) I know the polls said Ninja's but let me just finish the complete Moriarty army... then its ninja's hehe...
yes a character set is also on its way, its actually some of the first figures I drew when I decided to go down the steampunk way.
well i have the single 4 legged steam crawler which can have a turret, and I do want to give the spider crawler troop transporter a bit of a redesign. there are a lot of bits im not happy with.
also support staff, engineers, medics, scully maids etc... all on the cards.
It might actually make sense to complete a whole army first before moving on to enemies...
BTW my initial story had the rest of the world broken up and Holmes traveling the world gathering an army of rebel fighters... he travels to india, japan, russia, africa, egypt etc... so the enemy army i had planed to make out of squads of various historical fighting forces that has adopted the steampunk technology

There use to be a show in the UK called "Fort Boyard" which was hosted by Melinda Messenger, she had huge personalities. erm I digress... anyway it was this action gameshow set on a fort off the coast of south east england i think... I visited it years ago and it was totally freaking aswome... actually fits in nicely with the steampunk theme.
