UGH... hope this doesnt happen often, Due to my next release "Steam Rocket Troopers" and the higher quality of the set I decided to upgrade my first release of "shock troopers" You can now configure the weapon choices of each character, please note that some characters have limited options due to the position of their hands or pose. But at my count you have a possibility of 218 combinations and 436 if you count the inverse version as well. I will upload the set to RPGnow and all the other sites shortly. If you have previously bought the set, please log in and download the latest version for free. The weapons are: 1. Sniper rifle 2. Heavy machine gun 3. Grenade (one figure only) 4. Chainsaw (when all else fails...) 5. Sword gun 6. Knife gun 7. Flame thrower 8. Long barrel gun

I'd Love to have it expanded, photos added and pinned to the "how to section" :-)
I have just started using sketchup and moved from Metasequoia and Pepakura after years... and would love to combine all of that into one consolidated program.
But time is a luxery i dont have so learning it from scratch is a bit of a pain and i keep finding myself quickly popping into Metaseq and Pepakura to do something because I know them back to front...

Been putting the final touches on this for release this week and I think the weapon configuration options are great. most Figs have 4 weapons and one fig duel wields so she has 8 weapon configurations... I threw in a Chainsaw at the last minute ans is by far my fav weapon... especially duel wielding. p.s this is a low quality indesign preview, final quality is full 300 DPI What colours do you guys want to see? its not to late to get a colour scheme going. this is the colours i have.

Thanks again for the Sage advice!
I have two models per page (includes reverse so 4 figures) due to them being a bit taller than the average miniature and im at 54 layers. This includes weapons, colours and allowing the steam to be printed separately on clear acrylic if the user so desires.
I only have one duel wield fig and its her that is hogging the layers. 30 odd layers or so.
Ill then have the rest of the Figs in one PDF so there will be 2 PDF's of about 50 layers each...
at my current count there is a configuration option for about 330 unique figures out of a 6 fig set.
I was actually working on a "designers choice" pdf when your post came through about having a unique non layered PDF :-D so great minds and all that!!
Ill be releasing them this week.
Thanks sooo much for your help.

Thanks Dave again for the insight.
I am going to have a lot of layers. There is only 6 figures but each has 6 colours and 3/4 weapon choices and one actually has 6-8 weapon choices (dual wielding). oh and 6 more layers for smoke
So I think ill sacrifice the inverse version of the figs so you can have colour and weapon choices.

Dave, is there a way to group layers? I see some of your models have individual pages instead of a combined PDF, I take it this was to address the grouping issue?

no worried :-)
As to the 32mm size.. that was intentional, the should be half a head taller than the normal models. They mostly brawn and bulk. The heavy shock troopers will be a bit taller again.
The rocket troopers will be normal 30mm but will be around 20-30 mm off the ground so 60mm from base to tip of pointy hat thingy.
each will have a choice of 3-4 weapons and be in 6 colors again. however this time ill no be inverting them ese the layers will get unmanageable.

you should have received an email from RPGnow or one of those site saying that an updated file is available. Just log in to your account and download it again.
However! in preparation for the rocket trooper launch im going to add the choice of three weapons to the Shock troopers as well and will upadte the file one more time. (also an instruction fix that Vermin discovered)
But please do see if you having any trouble printing it.

Are you using the old file or the new one with the layers? the new file's size is better adjusted and is around 30mm.
Im not much help with printers i loath the things, we just dont seem to have a good relationship. I have made peace with the one at work but purely because there is someone else to tickle it and whisper sweet nerdy things in its ears.
erm.. have you tried turning it on and off again?

Dave..... THANK YOU THANK YOU....
As Glenn said above, with one post you have explained something that 50 odd websites and forums could not explain.
We need to document this somewhere!
I have followed your instructions and it works perfectly. I'm going to update the shocktrooper file on RPGnow (I was using it to test).

You absolutely correct the scaling comes down to inexperience from my side compiling the final document.
Im actually working on an updated file which i will release tonight which addresses the sizing issue.
It will also be my first test of using layers. (Thanks to the incredible help from Dave Graffam)

Thats entirely possible, the only problem I can see is doing the backs of the figures and matching them up.

Give it a coating of cheap hairspray (i normally use cheap $1 store hairspray) and it will give it a nice shine and seal it to boot.

So I'm trying to get a new set of figs out and the weapons will be interchangeable.
Now I can either create over 200 figs or I can use layerd PDF's.
Problem is I cannot get Layered PDFs to work in a satisfactory manner.
I'm using Photoshop CS5 for everything from concept drawing through to painting and finishing.
I wasted a lot of time chasing my tail this week trying to make it work and its keeping me from completing the figs. Im at a crucial phase where the choice I make will determine the next step in the fig development.
Does anyone have any advice or know of decent tutorials out there?
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and the Adobe CS5 Creative Suite on Mac OSX

the one with the sword's rocket pack needs a redraw, the others are tiny bit off but as you said not really that noticeable.
I'd seriously appreciate any help anyone can give with the layerd PDF thing. It will allow for so much more configurability...
the most badassed one of the new set is the female rocket trooper welding twin flame throwers....
