Doing the shallow roof first. Make sure you leave a bit of extra white along the ridge tile to make it easier to fold, then trim it back. Pre-folding is always important, but on these roofs, it makes assembly quite easy. I used grey for all the edging on this build Now turn things over and glue one edge. A trick learned from AirDave is to glue the roof side, not the tab side. Much more manageable Now glue the other side Glue the corners together and you can set it out of the way. The chimney has two layers of scrap behind it. After making the two chimney bases and gluing on the chimney, I can move on to the Tall Roof

Continuing with the Altana That last photo was to show why the walls are wonky. One of the last things I want to show is how to do the low bridge version of glennwilliams's Venice High Bridge, using the template to make sure things are level and square between the two buildings. Seeing the tall roof and tall roof altane together, I think it looks good, but I wish I had made the tall roof a little shorter, but too late now. After I do the balcony, I will be doing the short roof altane, then the chimneys EDIT -- one thing I forgot to mention is that I designed the altane to sit in place. It can be moved to any of the roof faces and will sit solidly. Or removed altogether

You put the new printer into good use I see. As I already said to gothique, this building is gorgeous. Among all the updates I'm missing a bit: is the altana compatible with the low roof version?
(I'm quite shocked by the idea that you pulled out all of this starting from a handful oaf pictures. Amazing)

The short roof altana is different in order to fit the geometry. The supports are so short, I am not doing them as tubes, only 2d.
I have the short roof altana printed, but I am going to build the tall roof chimney bases and chimneys first. Shouldn't take much time after work. Also built the balcony during a webinar today.
My biggest surprise is that I don't have any parts that need to be adjusted on the templates. I did a lot of double checking on the geometry as I was designing, but even then, there are usually a few errors popping up their ugly heads.
So, tonight I will get my photos together of the balcony build and post them. Then I will build the roof incidentals and get started on the short roof altana. Hopefully my math and geometry checks are correct on it, too
EDIT --
New faces for the building don't take long, once you have geometry worked out. It's getting geometry worked out that takes the most time.
Which is why I am tempted to do Ca' Dario before getting back to San Zan. Basically, it would be this building only one floor taller and then the little wing on the back with the liagò on top of it. Whether it is correct or not, this has been described as a liagò, as is another similar feature on another palazzo, so my working definition for liagò is 'an extension to the side of a building, with or without windows, with a roof.'

Then go for it! If ca Dario is taking you not that great effort that's probably the best way to go. 👍

Been a tad hard working on putting together instructions. I go back at 4PM Monday to fix an issue with the dental work I did make a page of chimneys. Made a lighter version of the round chimney and a brick version of the octagonal one

I gave up on the instructions. I just put a link at the bottom of each page to the start of the build thread.
I am going to call the Deluxe Sotoportego Building done.

It's not a complicated building, the whole thing is pretty intuitive. If you glue the various parts following the numbers listed it's piece of cake

The balcony is the trickiest thing to build since the balcony floor and the ceiling beneath it don't touch. Needlenose pliers help. The Ca Dario balcony appears to be able to have the floor and ceiling to be a fold-over

I put a 2 mm sheet of foam between the 2 layers of the balcony. Sturdy and stylish 😉
