I've got Nearly Headless Nick, the water dragon, on the table for surgery. I have some of the Total Annihilation weaponry printed out, too. Hopefully, one of them will look good on the 'mini' robot dog

Hey, who was it that was doing Babylon models? I really wish that along with the modular ability that there were some buildings that were just a file to print. I hate to have to calculate what I need to print to build anything in that series. Some quick-build items would be handy

I am working on some desert building terrain along the lines of my Sinister Cities sets.

I've been mucking about trying to solve some problems with how to attach side stairs and how it would access the roof.

I guess on Sinister Cities, there's really only the two buildings. I should get off my backside and finish up the redder version of Tower 1. I could probably get into my image collection and knock out another building or two for variety, using your geometry. Tenements and row houses would be good, as would be some store fronts. The desert building looks really good. There are a number of good ways to do those stairs. Have you ever looked at the Ghost of Man Arid Planet buildings? Paper Tiger Armaments had some desert buildings Or the Desert Village? PaperMau has many buildings with attached stairs

I've been mucking about trying to solve some problems with how to attach side stairs and how it would access the roof. What about making a regular set of stairs, but the top step is a bit higher than the top of the building wall and twice the width of the stair case. You then have a slit in the vertical section of the step, so that it slots over the top of the wall. I scribbled this on the bus to work about 30-minutes ago, then "tarted" it up in paint: Hope it shows what I mean.

okumarts, was the help helpful? I actually am intrigued by that desert dwelling I found in my hard drive. I hope to build it either tomorrow night or my home stint Sunday and Monday. I guess I need to get a second set of building tools for down at Dad's. I did rearrange it so that it could be enlarged and worked on enhancing the color a bit.

another option, would be to have oldschooldm's fold-flat stairs affixed to the side of the building

I ended up using it on the Toppi Saloon ... after 3 or 4 failed attempts. I probably need a refresher My problem there was printing it out before double-checking, so I would have textures wrong or blank spots. I ended up just printing dark gray on the back of it, which got rid of a lot of the whiteness EDIT -- The base is mounted to notepad backing, and the tree is being turned into a mini. Both are tucked into a big book until thoroughly dry. I think Sunday or Monday, when I am back in town, I should be able to get the little house done. Then I am going to build those weapons from the Core Reaper and Core Goliath

OK, so I am still working through the stuff ignatious sent me. I have finished one of the pink trucks that Vermin King designed, and a little construction robot. I have a human miniature for scale (Cannon Fodder from Wargames Atlantic.) I was unable to find wheels the proper size at the Dollar Tree today, so we will try a few more locations over the next week or so.

It is not one I had seen before EDIT -- Well, when it comes to stairs, I always have issues unless there is a 'former' piece underneath each edge. I tried reversing the folds to see if it would work better, but it just made it worse. Dry-fitting to check each way. Having the steps level, and the risers vertical at 90 degrees, it is too short height-wise, and too long for the space alotted. I figured it would be better having the gap at the bottom, which could have a box inserted in the gap, rather than having a waist-high jump at the top. But even angling the risers back as I moved down, it was still too long for the outer wall. The concept for adding the outer stairs is still a good one, it just needs to be planned out better

With GM's Day specials running down last night, I picked up a couple things I'd wanted for a while, including darkmook's Survival Horror Set 7 - Extraction. Which reminded me that I wanted to go back and get his figures from the Game Geek issues # 29, # 30 and # 33. In Issue 29, there are three marines and a Marine Weapon Platform. The weapon platform has intrigued me for several years, so I think I am going to build it next. In GameGeek34, there are some Nova Blast tiles, so I thought I would re-texture the weapon base with those textures. I'll also do bases for the marines in that texture. The Nova Blast marines are red, but I may change them to green to go with the Halo figures in the Downloads. Or I might just do the red Halo guys

While I am a little late commenting on the month...build...thing we did (as the thread has moved on, which is a good thing) I would still like to say. I'm really glad we did this. "As we blew off the ashes, we saw underneath still smoldering coals. It wasn't much, but it was enough to start a fire." aleks I really want to see pics of a whole layout with the magnets. Punkrabbitt I'm so stoked that you like them. The little cluster looks pretty cool. (and yes I just said stoked. I don't know if anybody still says that, but anyone who used to skate, or surf, knows what I mean.) yifferman Yes! to seeing the rest of the temple built. Just out of curiosity, what's the other "stuff" you were thinking about? alloydog I'm definitely going to try some treads like that, though I will make a cutfile of the in between cuts, and maybe layer a sheet or two cardstock. I will also do it on something where the treads are fully exposed ( so I don't have to mod the whole thing). If I am being honest, I think I'd have to say, I like the b@$t@rd the best. It made me think of "APOCALYPSE ON THE MOON". One those great when your young, much less so when your older movies, but you'll watch it if it is somehow on in front of you. The shtf years ago on earth, the small settlements on the moon where left to survive on their own. Oxygen became the most precious resource ( but really the substance they had to mine for it). The vehicles looked super cool, like patched together, but unnecessarily so. The fight/battle scenes were wildly unrealistic (everyone would have died)... and there were space zombies in a low gravity environment . Why they were outside apparently roaming around randomly is unclear, but the the whole plot was so thin it didn't really matter. It did however make you wonder what it would be like to live through the "APOCALYPSE ON THE MOON". Anyway that's what it made me think. okumarts If I may commiserate, I am battling ladders right now. Although Vermin King , I think we are pretty much on the same page of how to do them. Anyway, great stuff everone! I'm glad we all decided to jump in for this. Oh yeah aleks , I'd also like to see your 28mm board set all set up. I've only done a red sand board, and would like to see what you do with it. ... and alloydog , even though it's plastic, I still want to see pics of your blasphemy. You know... for the naughty side of me . I''m not too sure of what the string of emojis is saying, but it seemed appropriate.

Now I'm not the only one with a construction bot! I think that pink of the truck fits so well in the world of Pink Flufferdoodle ( not sure if I got that one right). For some reason the eye looks really cool to me, but let me know if you want one of that color without the eye or with something else, pentagram, anarchy, bullet holes or scratches ect... Basically any of the stuff that's on any of the other ones I sent you.
